Second Line of Defense – Director
Position this Job Reports To Head of Second Line Risk, India

POSITION INFORMATION
Summary/Objective:
The Director-level position is responsible for managing India entity Compliance Program(s) and ensuring alignment with the enterprise Compliance Programs; this will include but is not limited to holistic India legal entity compliance including Privacy and Conduct Management. The role will be responsible for Second Line Compliance Risk oversight and credible challenge on First Line compliance activities with all relevant laws and regulations across the India entity and provide regular reporting and updates on the state of compliance to the Head of Second Line Risk, India, the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and the India Risk Committee (IRC). The role will also dually report to the CCO/ his leadership and work collaboratively across the CCO leadership to act as their point of contact in India.
The position is also responsible for developing talent capabilities at the India Center to provide global services for the Chief Compliance Officer’s organization. This includes but is not limited to:
- Compliance Monitoring and Testing
- Compliance QA
- Reporting & Analytics
- Issue Validation
- Other Compliance capabilities
The role manages a team of resources with solid Compliance experience and skills, and partners with global stakeholders to establish effective collaboration and partnership to build and manage talent capabilities. Communicates and collaborates across a broad set of stakeholders. Responsive to changes in the business environment.
Functional:
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge about Compliance and sub-functions, processes, and the skill sets required to support best-in-class performance.
- Conceptualize, partner with CCO leadership, and implement compliance program(s) at the India entity to ensure risks are well managed.
- Demonstrate SME knowledge to monitor, perform oversight, and effectively challenge 1st LOD activities.
- Having the mindset and inclination to research compliance talent capabilities and what our peer bank GCCs are doing to support their global organization.
- Work with the Strategy team to source market data on compliance capabilities and develop whitepapers, presentations, and roadmaps to present to the CCO leadership.
- Communicate to stakeholders clear and concise information to support their decision-making and to help garner agreement and support their strategic priorities.
- Establish all necessary documentation to ensure performance objectives and SLAs of services rendered are consistently met.
- Partner with CCO leadership to conduct monthly business reviews of the work being performed by the team.
- Develop a roadmap for continuous improvement and demonstrate process improvements. Coach team members to imbibe the culture of continuous improvement and automation.
- Establish and monitor indicators of compliance risk in partnership with the First Line and provide an overall assessment of applicable risk profiles and alignment with FCB’s RAS.
- Establish relevant Compliance Policy and related standards, ensuring alignment with corporate policies, FCB’s RAS, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Advise Business Units concerning regulatory requirements and provide effective challenges for activities that may fall outside of established risk appetite.
- Support regulatory interpretations, change implementation, and compliance risk assessments.
- Evaluate business activities, systems, and controls to prevent and detect compliance issues.
- Establish risk programs to identify, assess, monitor, and manage risks by this Framework.
Leadership and People Management:
- Define talent/skill needs and resource requirements keeping in mind process evolution and emerging technologies.
- Provide a clear definition of roles, responsibilities, individual goals, and performance objectives for the team.
- Provide regular, constructive feedback to maximize the positive impact of individual team member’s talent.
- Create and support a collaborative team environment.
- Build collaborative and effective partnerships with CCO functional leads to ensure seamless support and delivery of services.

- CA/ CPA /MBA

- 15+ years of compliance risk management experience in financial services.
- 8+ years of experience in managing people and functions.
- Experience in managing/ leading process improvement initiatives
Certifications:
FRM, CISA, CRCM, CIA, CRMP, ACAMS
