Summary
In this role, you will be a member of the Quality Management Team, responsible for Cashew Quality at Alphonsa Cashew Industries. This position will be responsible and accountable for operational Quality Control programs and execution based on internal and regulatory standards and customer specifications. They will provide day-to-day support to the operations team for the measurement and management of cashew quality and ensure total compliance with the specifications across the cashew portfolio manufactured at Alphonsa Cashew Industries.
Responsibilities
- Lead continuous improvement projects on the quality of cashew nuts manufactured by Alphonsa Cashew Industries.
- Assure compliance with Internal Quality Standards, National and International Regulatory Standards and Customer Specifications.
- Provide cashew product line knowledge to stakeholders and provide guidance.
- Understand the legal quality and specification requirements for cashew nuts and flag issues and trends.
- Works closely with cross-functional teams and the Food Safety team to identify and mitigate quality risks.
- Conducts root cause analysis for defects, non-conformities, or other quality failures.
- Investigate and respond to customer complaints and provide guidance.
- Independently solve complex issues with minimal supervision while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Monitor Supplier Quality and ensure packaging and other material suppliers adhere to the supply chain compliance program as per FSMA regulations and Internal Specifications.
- Responsible for maintaining the Kosher, Halal and other Quality certifications.
- Provide data and resources and participate in continuous improvement initiatives as applicable.
- Validate and assure compliance with established quality objectives through daily monitoring programs, team supervision, and ongoing verification of industry benchmarking.

Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's Degree or higher in Food Science /Microbiology or a related discipline is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in the cashew or similar food industry.
- Strong analytical and data skills.
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organisation are required. Candidate should be fluent in verbal and written English.
- Proven People Management and experience leading and growing a team.
- Strong knowledge of National and International government regulations, FDA, EFSA HACCP, auditing, USDA, Food Code, SPC, crisis management and product recalls, Food Safety and Quality Systems program, and process validation.
- Proven experience in prioritizing work and meeting deadlines
- Good reporting skills
