SRE / DevOps Engineer

Job description

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to help build and maintain our platform infrastructure. This role reports to the Head of SRE.

SRE's responsibilities include working with our change management team, refining requirements and specifications into actionable tasks, resolving technical issues to deliver modern secure application infrastructure to our clients. To be successful in this role, you should have solid understanding of networking concepts, at least high-level knowledge of public cloud services (AWS preferred) and willingness to constantly push your limits.

Responsibilities include:

• Identify system requirements for new applications
• Create sustainable systems and services through automation
• Gather and analyse metrics for fault finding and performance tuning
• Assist development teams with support for troubleshooting and infrastructure improvements

Skills and attributes:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or other highly technical, scientific discipline, or significant experience in the infrastructure field
• Experience with Typescript preferred
• Knowledge of AWS Serverless Architectures and Services
• Understanding of testing practices
• Understanding of security practices
• Familiarity with working in a regulated environment
• Ability to program (structured and OO) with one or more high level languages, such as TypeScript / JavaScript (preferred), Python, Java or C/C++
• A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks
• Desire to constantly self-improve, learn new technologies and keep up with new trends in the industry
