Job description
• Ensures work is in compliance with all state and federal regulations, including but not limited to GMP, DEA, FDA
• 30%- Test and analyze raw materials using conventional analytical techniques within a specified timeframe
• 30%- Test and analyze OTC product and raw materials, non-OTC product using required IP testing, ICP-AES, and accompanying software required to process and validate test results
• 10%- Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation issues and out-of-spec results with the ability to communicate clear reasoning corrective and preventative action
• 10%- Oversee and provide guidance on daily activities for entry-level (Chemist I) and lab technicians regarding best practices for test methods, troubleshooting instruments and interpreting test results
• 5% Document results following laboratory and safety guidelines (GWP and ISO practices) and communicate outcomes to management
• 5%- Assist in training of entry-level, lab technicians and interns
• 5%- Communicate and escalate all issues pertaining to the aforementioned duties
• 5%- Perform other tasks as assigned that ensure smooth laboratory workflow and daily operations
• Learns the process of new product development torn laboratory prototype submissions through First Production support
