Job Purpose/Summary:
The Vice President of Product Engineering will provide strategic technical leadership to drive innovation and ensure the development of cutting-edge smartphone technologies. This role requires sound knowledge of new product introduction, end-to-end manufacturing, and process solutions for key design features. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of material and process standardization, design review, PFMEA, and pre-mortem analysis to optimize product quality, cost, and performance. This role is critical in enforcing quality standards, driving the adoption of new technologies, and ensuring our products meet or exceed customer expectations. ### Key Responsibilities: - Lead the strategic direction of smartphone technology development, focusing on innovation and market leadership. - Oversee the end-to-end process of new product introduction, including manufacturing and process solutions for key design features. - Standardize materials, processes, and designs to minimize defects, optimize costs, and enhance process efficiency. - Implement and enforce quality standards, establishing rigorous control processes throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. - Drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to improve product features and performance. - Maintain awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for innovation. - Develop and manage the technical department's budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and cost-effectively. - Utilize strong problem-solving skills to navigate technical challenges and improve product quality. - Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and enhance product quality. - Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards, and safety protocols. - Identify risks in the manufacturing process and develop strategies to mitigate them. - Optimize resource allocation to meet production targets and budget constraints. ### Qualifications: - Advanced degree in Engineering, Product Development, or a related field. - Extensive experience in product engineering and manufacturing, specifically in the smartphone industry. - Proven track record of leading innovation and technology development initiatives. - Deep understanding of PFMEA, quality control processes, and defect pre-mortem analysis. - Strong leadership and budget management skills. - Excellent problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking. - Knowledge of current industry regulations, standards, and emerging technologies. - Ability to work collaboratively across departments to drive product excellence.Job tags
