Job Purpose
We are looking to hire
Consultant, Hull Outfitting Engineering, This job role is to ensure to provide consultation regarding Hull Outfitting and give expertise supervision of the overall detail/production drawings in Ship Building.
Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships
Key Accountabilities: The
Consultant, Hull Outfitting Engineering who will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Consult the Hull Outfitting, Mooring and Piping Discipline Engineers for the Hull Outfitting division.
- Create Master Engineering Plan for the Hull Outfitting Division of New Project considering Construction Schedule, Procurement and Detail/Production MP/DP.
- Evaluate Engineering Manpower with analysing changeable design workload for the Hull Outfitting Division and Deploy engineers where needed.
- Develop and structure the division's engineering capabilities for the Discipline in line with the department's strategic development plan.
- Contribute to the professional development of employees with by providing training and mentoring.
- Monitor and ensure achievement of key performance indicators for the engineering discipline.
- Assist the department manager in development and implementation of process and procedures and ERM/CAD system implementation in the engineering.
- To provide consultation in preparation of detail drawings for various aspects of accommodation design, such as Outfitting, Mooring and Piping etc. The drawings must comply with international standards and contract specifications.
- Provide guidance in updating drawings according to result of feedback with each party of Clients, Classification Societies, Operation/Commissioning team, Vendors, and sub-contractors.
- Generate required technical information for production using CAD/CAM/ERM system.
- Support projects and production ensuring that detail/productions design deliverables are provided in a timely manner.
- Support for commissioning team to Arrange/Manage the service engineers from vendors for commissioning.
- Ensure quality and accuracy of the engineering deliverables for the discipline and ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) responsibilities.
Working Relationships: Internal Interactions: - Internal Engineering departments, other business work-streams within the company, Department Engineering Manager, VP Engineering Design.
External Interactions: - Clients, Classification Societies, Vendors, Subcontractors, consultants, inspection agencies.
Who we are looking for
Education: - Bachelor's degree in Ship Building and Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience: - At least 18+ years' experience, 5 years of which is in managerial or similar role within Accommodation division of engineering department of Shipbuilding or offshore support vessels building industry in related Accommodation outfitting, HVAC, and Piping engineering field.
Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations): - Preferred – Any additional certification / courses in mechanical design engineering, project management
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities): - Sound knowledge of International marine Rules &Regulations (IMO convention, Codes etc.), Classification Society Rules, Flag state national Rules, Industrial standards & guidelines
- Knowledge of Accommodation engineering
- Knowledge of whole process of production/installation of hull outfitting.
- Experience of leading technical meeting with Client and Classification Societies
- Ability to manage internal processes against Client's expectations.
- Ability to manage the vendors for installation and commissioning of equipment.
- Excellent communication & reporting skills on Senior management and Operational level
- Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others regarding continuous improvement.
