Cad Design & GAE team belongs to Complete powertrain within GTT. We are responsible to CAD designs and Geometrical architecture in all release phases of project life cycle, thereby ensuring right quality of documentation meeting PDM logic.
We work with our sites globally, involving start cost and maintenance projects in Powertrain Engineering.
We are looking for a key player who can build trust and to manage networking across the engineering team.
Who are you This position for Senior Engineer – Advance Visualization & Simulation takes lead in cross commodity geometrical activities to fulfil the project QDCF requirements.
You shall bring strong domain knowledge of Rigid & Flexible components design and validation. Also is responsible for delivering optimized and common architecture by balancing customer needs while protecting brand distinction.
This job is closely connected to strategies, technology, early adoption and implementing Advanced Visualization requirements like Virtual Reality for Product Development using Volvo Standard VR Tool chains in manufacturing development and product /project planning and has more engagement over time than just project time.
Responsibilities - Initiate and Drive simulation requirements and XR Visualization requirements to reduce prototypes.
- Setup solutions for Advance visualization like VR – using Volvo standard Tools like ESI IC.IDO / IPS / Autodesk VRED
- Co-ordinate Advance visualization deliverables for GTT along with the AVIS Technology Forum for Product development
- Prepare VR review readiness for Teams using software like ESI IC.IDO involving appropriate Physics Simulation requirements.
- Extend usage of VR tools to show progress of projects and other geometry related activities.
- Prepare for Flexible Simulation for Product development needs as per Volvo Global Tools and Methods like IPS and Simulation best methods.
- Give input regarding geometrical matters to stakeholders from a Human centric perspective.
- Drive standardization and democratization of AR/VR/XR usage with Global CoP (Community of Practice)
- Work closely with Volvo global teams & IT to identify gaps and improve process needed in AR/VR area.
- Support for Powertrain initiatives and Advanced Engineering initiative with Academia/Startups/External partners.
- Build geometry verification plan (virtual builds, physical builds B/C, DMU structure)
Key Skills - University degree / master's degree in mechanical/Automobile/Mechatronics engineering or equivalent.
- 8-10 years of engineering experience in automotive companies.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in usage of AR/VR tools like IC.IDO, IPS.
- Profound experience with Flexible Simulation using IPS – Industrial Path Solutions.
- Fully proficient in CAD/Creo parametric, Creo View, Windchill, Catia.
- Strong working experience with CAD, Packaging, and Integration Architecture.
- Good exposure with Kinematic Modelling using Creo Mechanism / Catia Kinematics.
- Exposure to Multi-Body Physics, Geometrical Tolerancing Tools will be added merit.
- Good automotive knowledge, truck knowledge, customer knowledge, variant complexity.
- Excellent documentation and presentation skills.
Added Advantage - Good knowledge with Development languages (C#, C++, Python, Java etc).
- Exposure with AR/VR Hardware Deployment/Usage like Oculus, HTC Vive, HoloLens etc.,
- Hands on exposure to 3D Modelling using Blender, 3ds max.
- Hands on exposure to development engines like Vuforia, Unity and unreal Engines.
- Graphical programming (HLSL Shaders).
- Design Methods and Software Architecture.
