Hybrid Working 

Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

Introduction:

The Product Owner works closely with the Corporate Banking engineering & Architecture teams to deliver the expected capabilities, business outcomes and associated benefits to support specific business strategies within the Corporate Data Services team. They work with the various stakeholders to create, drive, evolve and communicate the overall product vision, roadmap and backlog.

What will you be doing?

•    Manage Corporate Data Lake and/or other data products within CDS from product ownership perspective
•    Develop and drive Product strategy & roadmap
•    Manage multiple deliveries at a project and programme level simultaneously
•    Accountability of all phases like detailed design, development, testing, deployment and roll out of application changes for projects.
•    Commercials and resourcing
•    Stakeholders management
•    Delivery of all agreed change to time, quality and cost parameters
•    Managing the delivery of change in the integrated technology environment
•    Understanding the risk profile of change and ensuring that integrated testing is commensurate with that risk profile.
•    Overall ownership of project delivery from roadmap and backlog perspective
•    Establishing clear roles and responsibilities of the team
•    Comply with risk management controls to ensure compliance and meet operational SLAs
•    To understand the overall purpose of the projects and contribute to requirements & data analysis, and provide solutions
•    Provide approval and oversight to requirement documents as entry criteria to detailed design and development
•    Manage backlog & sprint planning and Agile fashion

Product Management and compliance to processes 
•    Lead Roadmap planning, backlog creation and prioritization with other Product Owners and Stakeholders across the Corporate Landscape
•    Work closely with the Delivery Leads on the Resource management across Product PODs
•    Manage governance forums & working groups
•    Explore metrics across the product, collaborate with Tech Leads and Delivery Leads to derive team performance
•    Provide product management information to the Product management team
•    Mentor junior team members
•    Raise and manage risks, assumptions, dependencies and issues in a timely manner in adherence to relevant standards
•    Be able to provide multiple solutions and have the ability to choose the best course of action weighing up various factors that should be taken into consideration

•    Experienced in Complex Deliveries
•    Strong communication skills – ability to communicate in a clear and concise fashion
•    Self-motivated and results focused
•    Ability to meet/exceed targets and work under pressure to achieve migration targets.
•    Minimum educational qualification required for this role is Bachelors.

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Experience of data engineering, curation, management insights, data analytics
•    Experience of Cloud migration (AWS preferred) 
•    Experience of Banking domain
•    Proven technical product management skills, demonstrating an ability to deliver to time, cost and quality parameters with pro-active management of risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies (RAID).
•    Experienced in articulating business outcomes, features and elaborate user stories that support teams in delivery of functional requirements. This includes understanding the value of non-functional requirements and their importance in maintaining service to customers
•    Sound stakeholder management skills.
•    Strong leadership and communication skills 
•    Experience communicating technical aspects to non-technical stakeholders 
•    An understanding of contemporary distributed software development, including:
o    Experience of building Data Lake & Warehouse
o    Records management policies and procedures
o    Technical Product Owner experience
o    Ab Initio 
o    Strong design skills & data modelling
o    Java, Microservices / API-oriented architectures
o    New age databases such as MongoDB, Postgres, RDS etc
o    Cloud & AWS
o    Data Engineering & Business Intelligence
o    Banking domain knowledge or experience
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write and present a range of written materials (presentations, briefings, reports) and to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels in various global locations. 
•    Experience working in an Agile environment at an Expert/Coach Level
