Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Specialist – Batch Operations located in Pune. You would be primarily responsible for VTOM batch management of over 20-30K batch jobs, Capacity planning of the batch solution, Batch monitoring, replay, retry & troubleshooting any failures in batches. Responsible for environment build, batch deployment, server/application patching/release, server migrations, application upgrades, automation & IT infrastructure support operations.
You would also be responsible to support operations in shifts and be part of the On-call roster to be available to support out of business hours for critical issues on a rotation basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing & troubleshooting Control-M/VTOM Application. (Configuration, Administration & Schedule Batch processes) Troubleshoot and configure new Control-M and VTOM agents
- Monitoring of gateway/Global condition server and Global alert server
- Scheduling of large no of batch jobs within various range of customer requirements.
- Assist in planning of Disaster Recovery Activity for Batch Operations
- Resolving Incident, Changes and Problem Management User generated Requests and queries.
- Defining control-m and VTOM agent in node groups
- Start-up shutdown of CTM and VTOM components
- Monitoring and recycling of Control-M/EM and VTOM components (Gateway, Global Condition server, Global Alert server)
- Failover and recovery for control-M/ VTOM
- Experience in Abend handling.
- Scheduling different kinds of batch production job flows including daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly yearly schedules.
- Scheduling setting up testing jobs for the scheduling test system.
- Knowledge on Defining and Debugging shell scripts on Linux, Unix, and windows systems.
- Work closely with project managers and technical teams for planned system upgrades, server roll out, application upgrades, changes, releases and run the business tasks.
- Provide specialist assistance and input to various key technical projects.
- Proper documentation of various implementation procedures for system and application upgrades before handing over the systems to the Operations team.
- Work with the business and development teams to plan, manage and implement various changes in the pre-production and production environment
- Experience with interacting with customers, senior managers, and customers, to handle service inquiries and problems.
- Plan, document, review and maintain system administrations guidelines and policies.
- Update operations and maintenance documentation for 24/7/365 personnel.
- Support operations across multiple geographic locations.
- Develop solutions to complex technical issues.
- Provide follow-up reports (technical findings, feedback, resolution steps taken) for Root Cause analysis, engineering technical assessment and process improvement initiatives.
- Update standard policies according to environment changes and audit results.
- Analyse software and hardware environments to determine any system defects.
- Develop data backups and retrieval techniques in case of failure, redundancy, etc.
- Detect and troubleshoot system operational and functional issues.
- Perform performance maintenance routines to ensure continuous system availability.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
Qualifications
Must Have:
- VTOM/Control-M/IBM TWS Scheduler certified
- Batch operations experience
- Remote Server Administration Utilities
- Ansible/ Shell Scripting
- Intermediate knowledge of Backup, linux, aix, scripting
- Understanding of ITIL
Good to Have:
- Migration-Planning and Implementation
- Knowledge of Ticketing tools like Service Now and monitoring tools
- Vendor management, DC Capacity Management
- Good knowhow of MS office tools (esp. MS excel, MS PowerPoint)
