Minimum qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in engineering and technical leadership
- Experience in designing, building, and debugging applications
- Experience managing Engineering teams, defining strategy, and objectives
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with distributed systems, storage, micro services, and browser client side rendering
- Knowledge of distributed database
- Ability to collaborate with other people, teams, functions across the world, and communicate cross-functionally

Responsibilities
- Grow talent through effective mentoring, coaching, succession planning, and retention strategies for key talent in a fast growth, engaged economic environment. Create goals and long-term strategy for teams.
- Deliver the roadmap balancing short and long-term goals of the project. Partner closely with Product Management, UX, and other Google Engineering teams to create, drive and deliver an innovative, compelling, and user-friendly experience to our customers.
- Unlock roadblocks at team level and cultivate collaboration.
- Drive technical projects to inspire the team to innovate, design, and implement advanced capabilities for a cutting-edge distributed database service.
- Help set the roadmap for the team, mentor, and give technical guidance to team members and help build the team. Partner with engineering teams and/or customers to support Spanner's strategy and growth.
