In one sentence

Amdocs Software Support specialist are responsible for providing remote technical support to customers for Amdocs Openet Policy & Charging solutions and will be the interface between the customers, Product Development (R&D) teams, third party vendors, and working with them to triage & debug issues, provide workaround and restore service, isolate possible defects, and simulate production issues in internal lab to identify resolutions. Also responsible to handle escalations from other team members on technical issues and provide guidance for issue resolution.

Must Have Skills

  • Engineering degree in Electronics/Computer Science or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5+ years of technical experience across Wireless core Networks and Cloud.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Diameter protocol.( Diameter knowledge is desirable.)
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes/Azure.
  • Strong understanding on ELK, Prometheus, Jaeger.
  • Working knowledge of Confluent Kafka.
  • Deployment knowledge using Helm.
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD (Jenkins/Git).
  • Good working exposure on the OCS (Online Charging System) and/or Policy Solution (PCRF).
  • Strong Knowledge on the 3GPP specifications. Should be able to identify and refer/communicate with customer/R&D from 3GPP/RFCs and other relevant specifications.
  • Practical experience required with debug and simulation tools viz. Wireshark, JMeter, Seagull etc
  • Hands-on LINUX knowledge, scripting experience with languages such as bash, python or Perl and configuration management tools like ansible, puppet ,chef and shell, along with test script development using Robot framework.
  • Excellent communication, inter-personal skills, teamwork and collaborative abilities with proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and to work with minimal supervision.

Shifts : Rotationally between 7 am-4pm and 3pm-11:59pm shifts

Good to have…

  • Experience with Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Jaeger, EFK or ELK stack,software defined networking (SDN) as applicable to Wireless Packet Core
  • Desirable to be well conversant with cloud concepts including IaaS, PaaS, VMs, VNF, VNFM, Heat Templates, etc. Knowledge of 5GC and 5G NR and virtualization (K8S,Openstack, OpenShift…) & Exposure on Microservices' architecture
  • Experience with virtualization (VMWare, Openstack, SDN and NFV).
  • XML and related technologies (XSL/T, XML Schema).
  • Good experience working with MySQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, Cassandra, Mongo DB, Aerospike, VoltDB.
  • Development tools experience - Git, Gerrit, Nexus, JIRA.
  • Jenkins, Ansible, Python, Prometheus, Nagios, Jabix, Zennos

What will your job look like

  • To provide rapid response and technical support to Amdocs customers by identifying,troubleshooting reported issues; restoring service; and providing solution to the issue.
  • To participate in an after-hours emergency pager rotation and execute customer maintenance windows to perform deployment or upgrade activities as required.
  • To collaborate with various functional departments (Product Management, R&D, and others) to ensure timely and accurate solutions are provided to customer.
  • To have agility to work in parallel with multiple projects and products which TAC team is supporting.
  • To conduct special internal and customer workshop when not covered by training department.
  • To handle regular customer interactions and weekly/monthly sync-up meetings and to build relationship with customers.
