About The Role
- Support comprehensive analysis with respect to the accounting policy, reporting, monitoring and reconciliation activities according to management requirements
- Detailed analysis and research on all the open items related to Claims Reconciliation files for all the US and CAD entities
- Provide accurate financial information to the management to enable timely and current decisions to be made
- Collaboration with different teams on frequent basis to resolve all the ongoing subledger and general ledger issues and apprise the business stakeholder
- Posting of journal entries timely and accurately for various categories specially on month end and quarter end
- Utilizing different functionality of SAP for GL information, journal entries and for extracting the required inputs and reports
- Provide timely and accurate accounting, controlling and reporting tasks according to internal guidelines, including closing and reporting of defined entities
- Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and the audit requirements
- Support audit activities and prepare requested information
- Liaise with stakeholders for the entities across the relevant accounting valuations (US GAAP, Local Stat, IFRS and EVM)
- Participate and support Finance related projects and perform ad hoc tasks as required
- Identify and evaluate process improvement possibilities and work with transformation team
- Needs to work on the SOPs for all the transitioned activities and sign off procedure will be on yearly basis from business stakeholder
About The Team The Corporate Solutions Americas Group Finance team is responsible for the financial management and reconciliations of the Corporate Solutions North America entities, including the quarterly financial closing for US GAAP/IFRS and the relevant statutory valuations. In addition, the team also contributes to the detailed analysis of all the claims related documentations and insurance attributes like premium, commission, refunds, waives, transfer etc. for all the policies and legal entities that results in providing quality management information for reporting and decision making both historic and forward-looking projections. We also contribute to several development projects.
We are now recruiting an Associate with an accounting background, passionate about being involved in the growing business unit.
This position offers an outstanding opportunity to get an overview of some of the complex and interesting claims and insurance products of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. It also offers close collaboration with claims operation and origination teams. You are responsible for handling the monthly and quarter close activities, including claims reconciliations for all the legal entities, assisting with quarterly reporting and supporting external and internal auditors. You will provide support wherever required but also seek possibilities to further develop and improve the team's delivery processes.
About You - University degree in Finance/Accounting; (Re) Insurance knowledge is preferred
- Minimum experience of 2 years in an Accounting and Reporting function
- Accounting degree/diploma (CPA, CA, ACCA) or MBA from reputed institution is a plus
- Understanding of US GAAP, IFRS and/or local Statutory principles is a plus
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Should be good in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Working knowledge of automation tool (Power BI, RPA, Python) is a plus
- Self -starter, able to prioritize keys tasks & manage deliverables effectively
- Highly self-motivated and result oriented. Able to work in a global and multicultural environment
- Adaptable to a changing and dynamic environment
- Flexible to travel when dealing with remote locations
