Job description

Position Objectives And Position Summary

This is a phenomenal chance to join the L&H Continental Europe Valuation and Analysis Team for the reporting of the CE Southern and Western markets.

This role sits within the Valuation and Analysis function in Group Risk Management. Working together across a broad group of functional areas we are dedicated to running our in-force book, building strong relationships with clients, and looking for opportunities to generate value.

You will be accountable for ensuring the appropriate reporting of the Continental Europe business on multiple valuation bases for multiple branches.

It will be important for you to establish positive connections with other departments such as Finance, Business Units and Client Markets, as well as various global functions.

Main Tasks/activities/responsibilities

  • Contribute to the end-to-end valuation of the Continental Europe Portfolio in the EMEA L&H Valuation team for quarterly/yearly reporting
  • Provide high quality commentaries on quarterly reserves and P&L movements and present results to the Head of the Actuarial Team / High Level governance committees
  • Assist in proposing methodologies suitable for valuation including assumption reviews, interest rate proposals
  • Working under multiple reporting regimes: IFRS17, Statutory, as well as providing input into the internal risk model and Solvency Reporting (SST, SII)
  • Assist in migration of different treaties on actuarial valuation platforms
  • Support the strategic priorities of the function
  • Support to junior members of the team

About You

  • Qualified Actuary with 5+ years of proven experience in reinsurance, life or health insurance products
  • Experience with market consistent valuation and/or USGAAP an advantage
  • Experience with IFRS17
  • Ability to work independently
  • Outstanding communication skills, including being capable of presenting results to/discussing results with internal interested parties and senior stakeholders.
  • Teamwork - able to build working relationships across technical fields, and work effectively across the L&H value chain (including non-actuaries).
  • Proficient in English, both oral and written.
  • Work with teams across various locations
