Job description
The Business Systems Analyst documents detailed functional and technical requirements and acceptance criteria for user stories. Requirements may be in the form of process flow diagrams, user interface designs, business rules, data mappings, etc. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented and highly innovative. Responsibilities
- Attend daily scrum meetings and sprint ceremonies.
- Scope out features during solution design workshops.
- Work directly with customers to develop core system data mapping requirements.
- Work directly with customers to discover, organize, and clarify customer business needs.
- Identify gaps between Sureify product features and customer business requirements.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner and subject matter experts to elaborate detailed functional requirements to facilitate development and testing.
- Promptly answer delivery and development team questions to ensure that they understand functional requirements.
- Negotiate resolution of conflicting or competing requirements and recommend to the Product Owner needed functional requirements changes or business process redesign where applicable.
- Communicate solution changes and enhancements verbally or through written documentation to the customer so that issues and solutions are understood.
- Conduct test case reviews and provide feedback to the QA team to ensure a high quality solution.
- Assist with testing, verify acceptance criteria are met, and ensure traceability.
- Collaborate with the test automation team to ensure real-world scenarios are covered.
- Partner with Product Owner team to mature BA practice.
- Proxy for the Product Owner when needed.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills required; proven ability to engage diplomatically and directly with US-based customers.
- Exceptional presentation and engagement skills.
- U.S. life and annuity industry knowledge and experience required.
- Experience with life administration systems and other core financial systems required, including but not limited to system migration, data integration/transformation, and data analytics.
- A solid understanding of life and annuity core system data models.
- Experience defining and developing functional requirements in an Agile Scrum environment required.
- Experience with various process flow diagram development methods and tools required.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills with a continuous process-improvement mentality required. Â Â
- Experience with Jira preferred.
- Ability to research and collaborate with subject matter experts.
- Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet deadlines and customer needs.
- Flexibility in meeting scheduling to accommodate working with customers in US time zones.

Education and Certification
- Bachelors degree plus 5+ years experience as a Business Systems Analyst working on complex technology implementations required.
- Also, candidates with the certifications listed below will be given priority.
- Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP)
- Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA)
- Certified Product Owner (CPO)
