Job Title: Store Keeper - Construction Site
Department: Inventory and Asset Management
Reports To: Site Manager / Inventory Manager
Job Overview: The Store Keeper plays a crucial role in managing the day-to-day operations of the store at the construction site. The individual is responsible for maintaining records, overseeing inventory, and ensuring the secure and efficient organization of materials and equipment. The goal is to ensure that the construction project has a steady flow of required materials without any discrepancies or delays.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Oversee and manage inventory levels, orders, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment.
- Perform regular inventory audits and keep accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials.
- Coordinate with suppliers and site management for timely delivery and restocking of materials.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain comprehensive records of materials received, stored, and issued.
- Ensure all documentation, such as delivery notes, invoices, and stock records, are accurately filled out and filed.
Quality Control:
- Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies; report those to suppliers and site management for reimbursements and record keeping.
- Ensure the quality of materials meets the required standards and specifications.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure the storage and handling of materials comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and safe storeroom environment.
Team Coordination:
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other site staff to ensure the smooth operation of the store.
- Assist in forecasting inventory requirements based on project timelines and coordinate with vendors for timely supply.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in inventory management, logistics, or related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Store Keeper or similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Familiarity with construction materials and equipment.
