Role Description
Reporting to the Senior Analytics and Automation Manager the Analytics and Automation Analyst will support the development and operation of analytics and automation to facilitate the execution of control testing across Experian's critical control objectives.
The Analytics and Automation Analyst will develop automated ETL processes which fetch, transform and archive data from various sources (SQL databases, data lakes, flat files) in order to facilitate data analytics.
The Analytics and Automation Analyst will then develop and automate analytical tests and insights according to our control testing requirements in order to provide assurance on an ongoing basis via continuous monitoring. This will include the automation of data visualization dashboards in order to impactfully present the results of this testing.
The Analytics and automation analyst will also support the maintenance and development of the Data Analytics Platforms and Knowledge Base and any future technologies acquired to support the Group Risk Controls & Testing team.
Major Job Functions:
- Manages relationships with data owners, addressing security requirements and identifying additional data required to satisfy the requirements of the Control Testing team.
- Develop and deploy automated ETL processes to ensure continuity and completeness of data feeds into the access management testing hub. Proactively monitor the effectiveness of these processes and develop and implement improvements and amendments as needed.
- Applies advanced analytics skills to solve complex access management testing Critical Control Objectives.
- Takes ownership for developing data visualization solutions / dashboards to communicate and report results of testing and the coverage of the data analytics testing hub, ensuring the
- Support the development of integrated reporting of access management testing incorporating analytics, continuous monitoring and manual testing.
- Support the management of the AWS analytics environment and other supporting technologies.
- Researches and monitors emerging analytics and automation capabilities and identifying opportunities to enhance access management testing by leveraging these capabilities including coaching and advising other team members on their usage.
Qualifications
Essential Abilities:
- Proven experience in developing automated ETL procedures
- Proven experience with at least one data analytics tool (e.g. Alteryx, SAS, Python)
- Proven experience with at least one BI / visualization tool (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Qlik)
- Proven experience of managing and delivering high quality data analytics
- Experience of relational databases (e.g. SQL)
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Problem solver who proposes innovative solutions
- Collaborative and consultative in approach with colleagues
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, large data sets and disseminate significant amounts of information with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
- Awareness of current trends in Data Science
Advantageous Abilities
- Experience of predictive modelling and segmentation
- Experience of cloud computing (e.g. AWS)
- Experience of identity and access management tooling
- Internal Audit or Information security controls experience
Required Experience:
- 5+ years experience in data analytics development and delivery.
Degree or other relevant qualification in computer science, data analytics or equivalent
