Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role that is located in Chennai for an Instrumentation Engineer. The Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible for designing, testing, installing, commissioning, and maintaining instrumentation systems and equipment in various industrial and manufacturing settings, such as oil and gas, chemical, and power plants. The Instrumentation Engineer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and troubleshoot issues, and provide customized solutions to optimize process efficiency and quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in instrumentation design, programming, testing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance in various industrial and manufacturing settings, such as oil and gas, chemical, and power plants
- Expertise in various instrumentation systems and equipment, such as sensors, transmitters, control valves, PLCs, DCS, SCADA, HMI, and ESD systems
- Familiarity with various standards and codes, such as ISA, IEC, NEC, NEMA, API, ASME, and ISO
- Proficiency in various software tools, such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP, and MATLAB
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs, and perform system calculations and simulations
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively in cross-functional and collaborative teams
- Willingness to travel occasionally to various customer sites in India and Overseas, and work in various environmental and climatic conditions
