The Strategy and Technology Group (STG) is a new initiative within Aon to deliver innovative consulting and technology solutions to its clients. This is a great opportunity to join a growing group and to work with a highly skilled, collaborative team of actuarial and software experts who are using the latest technology to deliver next generation products for insurance markets.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

As a Automation engineers you have to develop, test and implement software tools or programs to automate technical operations. Projects can range from simple tasks like automating the population of user data into a spreadsheet to complex tasks like automating the actions of industrial robots for manufacturing.

Mandatory Tools/Technology: Cypress, UFT, Node.js, Cucumber, Azure Devops Pipeline, Git/Git lab, Octopus Deploy

Required Experience:

• Working with software engineers, testers, actuaries and the product owner to identify the scope for automated testing.

• Analyzing existing systems and writing acceptance criteria including test scenarios written using Gherkin syntax
• Analyzing new complex software features and building appropriate automated tests, including end to end Cypress tests, load and performance tests, Web API integration tests, security tests, non-functional requirement tests
• Proven skill in analyzing technical issues and translating them into component designs
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in leading testing efforts, guiding junior testers and ensuring testing best practices are followed.
• Experience in setting up of Automation Environment, build deployment using Octopus.
• Min 3 years of hands-on automation testing including creating new frameworks using UFT, Cypress etc. and appropriate test harnesses or equivalent software engineering experience.
• Experience in writing automation tests for WEB UI as well as REST and SOAP service endpoints
• Bug Tracking: Proficiency in using bug tracking tools to report and track defects is often required (Tools) - JIRA , Azure Devops, Test Rail
• Experience in Integrating the test automation tools with Devops pipeline and Test Management tools

Preferred Experience

• Proven work experience as a manual tester with a track record of successfully testing software applications.
• Being a primarily manual tester, having knowledge of test automation and knowing when to apply it can be an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams.
• Having experience in data validation, data integrity, data accuracy (using SQL query languages) will be an asset.
• Team player who inspires trust, contributes to team success and leads by example to go the extra mile .
• 8 - 10 years of in-depth knowledge of software testing principles, methodologies, and techniques is essential. Familiarity with various types of testing (functional, regression, integration etc.) is expected.
• Sets up and automates test development, testing on System, Integration, E2E and UAT environments for smoke and regression testing.
• Test Documentation: Experience in creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts is crucial for effectively conducting manual testing.
