Job description
Job Title : Head Construction
Reports To : Managing Director
Location : Coimbatore
Head construction is fully responsible for the overall success and development of any project, leading it from beginning to end.
Role & responsibilities
- Work with the architect and construction crew to ensure that each project is feasible.
- Network with external contractors and negotiate to attain the best deals and rates for assignments.
- Manage job sites for both new construction and remodeling projects
- Create schedules for construction crew and ensure all projects are fully staffed
- Managing a project planning, contracting, execution, and monitoring team;
- Understanding of Structural Design and Civil Engineering
- Ensuring that all necessary equipment is on-site
- Ensure necessary permits, approvals and licenses are obtained and maintained in order.
- Ensuring that budget costs for wages, contractors, materials, and equipment are not exceeded
- Oversee subcontractors and vendors to ensure that quality standards are met.
- Deal with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to reach an agreement.
- Recruit personnel and contractors for the project as per requirements.
- Ensure all legal, health and safety regulations are being followed throughout the project.
- Prepare and submit project estimates and project reports to the management at regular interval
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Project management professional certification or any equivalent qualification is an added advantages.
- Experience in remodeling projects (Institutions) preferred
- 15+ years experience in new construction and in a supervisory capacity
- Extensive experiencing managing budgets for large construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes and equipment
- Excellent knowledge of building permits, legal requirements and construction procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once with no decline in quality control
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
