Job description

The Software Engineering Specialist independently executes advanced activities to deliver the engineering strategy and roadmap that supports BTs commercial strategy through cross functional business partnering and the participation of a team that pursues innovation as well as engineering excellence.

What you ll be doing

Min 10+ Years of hands-on experience on API gateway preferably APIGEE, API Management, Design and Development [APIGEE preferable].
Defining the enterprise level API build and maintenance strategy, implement best practices, drive adoption.
Hands on experience in maintaining enterprise level API platform infrastructure with constant endeavour for operational efficiency.
Should be able to work with stake holder and understand business requirement.
Enterprise level API design and exposure on API gateway.
Experience in Agile development, application design, software development, and testing.
hands on with Docker, Kubernetes (Good to have).
Must be a key player to take responsibility and drive the assignments.
Actively defines solution, which includes evaluation, selection, and integration of necessary technical components to create solution designs that support the defined functional and non-functional requirements.
Ensures that the designed/reviewed solutions conform to architectural requirements such as scalability, maintainability, reliability, extensibility, usability and security.
Leading a team of 4-5 members.
Ability to communicate with the business owners, understand business requirement and converting those to technical specification.
Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills to include the ability to analyse and test a wide array of application changes.
Possesses strong attention to detail skills.
Ability to analyse the impact of decisions before execution.
Strong analysis and debugging experience required.

The skills you ll need

Experience on APIGEE API Management and API Principles and REST principles.
Strong experience in setting and running Apigee infrastructure on prem, hybrid and cloud - we will have management plane in GCP and runtime planes in AWS EKS and on premise.
Web Services (SOAP, REST, gRPC, GraphQL, Micro Services)
Experience with Apigee Management APIs and integrations with enterprise systems including Infrastructure & Application monitoring, SAML or LDAP SSO, and Logging.
Experience with high availability, load balancing and failover configurations with Apigee.

Good experience on Node.js and Java script.
Good understanding about security policies and Authentication and authorization.
Good understanding of protocols and transport layer security, MTLS, OAuth.
Gateway policies for Proxy API creation.
Experience in API platform on designing, implementing REST APIs.
Cloud experience on AWS, GCP good to have.
Hands-on experience in automated unit testing and related tools, e.g.: Chai, Mockito, Sinon, postman etc.
Hands on experience JIRA tool for planning and tracking of the work.
Knowledge of CI / CD and awareness of tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Gitlab-CI, SonarQube etc.
Gateway policies for Proxy API creation.
Should be able to learn and pick-up the market trending technologies quickly.
Thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and Agile.
Good to have:
Certification in Apigee
Good understanding of AWS and GCP services
API catalogue tools like Rapid, Stoplight, Swagger
