Job Title: Business Rule Engine (BRE) Developer - Credit Cards

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Business Rule Engine (BRE) Developer with expertise in coding and configuring rules for underwriting credit card applicants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology, finance, and risk management, with a focus on leveraging rule-based systems to automate decision-making processes in the credit card issuance domain.

Responsibilities: Develop and Configure Business Rules:

Design, develop, and implement business rules using a BRE platform to automate credit card underwriting policies. Collaborate with Stakeholders:

Work closely with business stakeholders, including risk managers, credit analysts, and product managers, to understand underwriting policies and translate them into rule-based logic. Coding and Scripting:

Write and maintain code/scripts to customize, extend, and optimize the functionality of the BRE system to meet the specific requirements of credit card underwriting. Rule Maintenance and Optimization:

Regularly review and update existing business rules to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and business objectives. Identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains in rule execution. Testing and Quality Assurance:

Develop and execute test cases to validate the accuracy and effectiveness of business rules. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure the reliability and robustness of rule-based decision-making processes. Documentation and Reporting:

Document business rules, decision logic, and system configurations. Generate reports and provide insights into the performance of rule-based underwriting processes. Training and Support:

Provide training and support to end-users and stakeholders on utilizing the BRE system for credit card underwriting. Address any technical issues or inquiries related to rule configuration and execution.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field. Proven experience in developing and implementing business rules using a BRE platform(s). Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or C#. Solid understanding of credit card underwriting principles, risk management concepts, and regulatory requirements. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail. Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
