JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Global Markets Risk Assessment and Monitoring ('RA&M') team is a global tactical team of process and risk analysts who support Global Markets' business teams. As part of the Business Risk Management Operations, First Line of Defense ('FloD'), the team performs process and control reviews at the business function level, and also develops scalable, pragmatic solutions to known risk and process deficiencies.
Within this role we partner with the businesses to identify areas of weakness and control deficiencies as well as develop custom solutions for a myriad of business needs. Engagements can range from control effectiveness testing, short-term targeted assessments and deep-dive remediations, to long term, multi-month engagements.
A successful candidate will have prior audit or assurance experience, strong analytical skills, knowledge of the financial services industry and a background in risk management. Candidates should also have strong written and verbal communication skills as well demonstrated success working in a team environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute operational effectiveness testing of controls identify and execute the need for control design review.
- Document well thought-out control narratives that articulate how a control is performed, the risks it is intended to mitigate and the conclusion on the appropriateness of the controls' design
- Develop detailed process flow diagrams for business and/or IT functions based on functional walkthroughs with the business as well review of documented procedures as required
- Identify and assess areas of risk, process deficiencies and appropriateness of control design and be able to effectively prioritize, communicate and occasionally implement remediation measures
- Identify control gaps or potential control changes to improve the risk of the business function
- Collaborate with other groups (e.g., Business Risk and Controls, business unit management, etc.) to request documentation and discuss potential issues for investigation and resolution
- Document results of assessments and testing and effectively communicate results to RA&M management
- Manage testing of multiple controls concurrently and ensuring that all deadlines are met
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years' work experience in audit or process assessment functions prior experience in IT audit functions a plus
- Demonstrated project management skills and ability to document processes and controls
- Experience with data visualization and process flow tools such as Qlik and Visio prior experience with Archer a plus
- Knowledge of Global Market products a plus
- Excellent data management and reporting skills
- Proven interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Strong ability to organize data and outline functional reviews for presentation and reporting to senior leaders within the group
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and dedicated to the pursuit of data quality
- Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives while meeting deadlines
- Must be self-motivated, adaptable and willing to take on new challenges
- Intellectual curiosity and an enthusiasm for learning and for developing
