Job description
We re looking for a Quality Engineer, Technology Development . In this role, you ll primarily work on quality assurance of the product deliverables.
As a Quality Engineer, on any given day you might be testing the product s final deliverables, validating the quality, and seeing changes through to completion in a live environment.
About the Team
- This role is part of a team supporting product(s) within the mainframe BetaCore area
- The team is responsible for business logic changes to our core Backoffice processing platform
- This role also involves test scripts creation, functional, integration and performance testing, requiring heavy collaboration with business analysts, developers, and product owners
What You ll Do
Using an analytical, engineering-focused approach and expert knowledge of product behavior to validate the team s deliverables and ensure software is as functional and robust as the client or consumer needs. Core responsibilities will include:
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review Product requirement documents and develop effective, test scenarios, test cases and requirements traceability for projects, all to company standards.
- Proactively seek out the necessary system and business documentation to allow you to fully understand the system change being made at different layers of the system and develop test cases appropriately.
- Define clear expectations for all testing tasks, including inputs, outputs, and error conditions.
- Review test cases with team and product
- Take ownership for the on-time delivery for testing-related tasks
- Create and manage end to end regression scenarios for test regression, execution, and reporting.
- Identify the end-to-end use cases for automation suite.
- Track and document the test results and report on key metrics.
- Work in an agile, rapid development environment where effective communication is paramount.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, or other technology field.
- Hands-on 3 to 5 years of experience in quality assurance preferable within the financial services/brokerage industry.
- Experience with working in monthly/Bimonthly releases
- Hands-on experience on black box and white box testing on complex web-based applications.
- Execute the testing for your project team (manual and/or automated); include functional, integration and regression and assist with user acceptance testing.
- Identify the test data requirement for functional tests (Manual /Automation)
- Hand on experience in building the automation test suite using Selenium - Java.
- Test management tools experience for reporting test artefacts and issue tracking using tools like Test Rail, JIRA etc.
- Performing API testing using POSTMAN or SOAP UI tools
- Working knowledge on basic SQL queries.
- Experience with Git lab Ultimate, Jenkins, and CICD integration principles
Nice to have:
- Working knowledge on BDD frameworks using Cucumber / Karate for API automation
- Mainframes experience
- AWS knowledge or experience
- Knowledge on Performance testing tools- LoadRunner
- Software testing certification
