Job Description
Key responsibilities of Finance Controller
Governance
- Produce and report on performance metrics (SLAs and KPIs) for the Finance function within the SSC.
- Review and update all process documentation periodically including Standard Operating Procedures.
Team Management
- Provide oversight and review on Management Accounting and Accounts Payable work.
- Onboard, upskill and train staff members and perform performance reviews and appraisals.
- Manage rostering and coverage and communicate with key stakeholders.
Month-End
- Month-end close functions for multiple companies including full reconciliation of all balance sheet items, general ledger review and assisting with trend analysis/flux analysis.
- Record journal entries including accruals, prepaid expenses, amortization, and depreciation.
- Maintain accurate financial schedules including fixed assets, lease, and other cost schedules.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations.
- Prepare month end journals.
Indirect Tax Management
- Provide system reports to local taxation advisors so they can prepare VAT/GST/Sales tax returns and lodgments.
- Journal appropriate accounting entries into the accounting system.
- Ensure tax payments are made on time.
- Perform BS reconciliations on the control accounts each month end and escalate any issues.
Direct Tax Management
- Work directly with global tax advisor affiliates to provide schedules and documents to assist with the annual tax return preparation, utilizing the Beehive technology system solution.
- Support tax advisor with tax provision accounting and process tax journals into system.
- Manage tax installment payment and include it in regional cash flow statements.
- Lead the annual preparation of filings.
Management Reporting
- Preparing variance and trend analysis.
- Prepare local company management accounts.
Statutory and Audit Reporting
- Provide schedules and documents requested for global and local audits.
- Assist with gathering information for other audits as they arise.
- Work directly with 3rd party annual report providers to provide schedules and documents as requested.
The Successful Applicant
Minimum Requirements of Finance Controller:
- Only Qualified CA's should be applying for this position
- Experience in the Shared Service/BPO Industry is mandatory
- 10+ years' relevant experience in Accounting / Finance.
- 5+ years' experience in a leadership role in Accounting / Finance.
- Accounting qualification - CA (It is a must-have)
- Experience working in a Global Business Services / Shared Service Centre environment.
- Construction and real estate accounting experience are beneficial.
- Private equity-backed company experience beneficial.
- Experience managing a team.
- Fluent in English - other European languages are beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and able to engage with all levels of the organisation.
