Job description
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL, NoSQL, Big Data, modern architectural principles, and expertise in various Azure data services. Knowledge of AWS and GCP is a plus (certified practitioner preferred).
Responsibilities: Data Strategy and Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and goals related to data management and analytics. Define and develop the overall data strategy and roadmap for the organization. Identify opportunities for data integration, consolidation, and centralization to improve data quality and accessibility. Evaluate new data technologies and tools to recommend the most suitable solutions for the organization's needs. Develop and maintain the enterprise data architecture strategy, aligning it with business goals and objectives. Expertise in both traditional data technology like Data Warehouse, Data Lake and transformative capabilities such as Data Fabric and Data Mesh concepts. Design and implement data models, data flow diagrams, and data integration processes. Data Architecture Design and Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical data architecture designs. Design and develop scalable and high-performance data solutions, including data models, database schemas, and data integration strategies. Define and implement data storage and retrieval mechanisms, ensuring optimal performance and data availability. Identify and evaluate new data technologies and tools, incorporating them into the data architecture when appropriate. Stay up-to-date with modern architectural principles, including microservices, containerization, and serverless computing. Apply these principles to data architecture design. Data Modelling and Design: Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to represent the organization's data assets. Define data standards, guidelines, and best practices for data modeling and database design. Ensure the integrity and consistency of data models across different systems and applications. Collaborate with application developers, data engineers, and database administrators to implement data models effectively. Have a deep understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, including performance tuning and optimization. Evaluate and recommend the use of specific database technologies based on project requirements. Proficiency in big data technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and related ecosystem tools. Good understanding in coding languages e.g. Python, Scala, etc Design and implement data processing and analytics solutions at scale. Data Integration and Governance: Establish and enforce data governance policies and best practices. Identify and document data sources, flows, and dependencies within the organization. Develop data integration strategies to consolidate data from various systems and ensure data consistency and accuracy. Establish data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to maintain data quality, privacy, and compliance. Monitor data quality metrics and implement data cleansing and enrichment processes as necessary. Expertise in various Azure data services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse , Azure Databricks, Amazon and GCP data services. Architect and implement data solutions on the Azure cloud platform. Data Security and Privacy: Collaborate with the security team to define and implement data security and privacy measures. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, such as GDPR or CCPA. Define and implement access controls, data encryption, and data masking techniques to protect sensitive data. Implement data security measures to protect sensitive information. Data Architecture Documentation: Create and maintain documentation of data architecture, including data models, data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, and system integrations. Communicate complex data concepts and architectures to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Proven experience as a Data Architect or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of data architecture principles, techniques, and best practices. Proficiency in data modelling tools and techniques. Hands-on experience with relational databases, data warehouses, and big data technologies. Proven experience as a Data Architect or similar role. Strong proficiency in SQL, NoSQL and Big Data. Familiarity with data integration, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance frameworks. Understanding of cloud platforms and services, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Knowledge of data security and privacy regulations. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Job tags
