Reinsurance Solutions Analytics offers clients industry-leading Catastrophe Management, Impact Forecasting, Rating Agency Practice, Product Development and Research, Actuarial & ReMetrica support.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Impact Forecasting team based in Bangalore. Our global team, comprising over 140 members across 5 offices worldwide (Bangalore, Singapore, Prague, London, and Chicago), is composed of scientists, developers, and client services professionals. Together, we develop and support catastrophe models for a range of natural and man-made perils including flood, windstorm, earthquake, fire, terrorism etc.,

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Develop models for atmospheric perils with a primary focus on tropical cyclones, including associated perils such as wind, flood, and storm surge.
• Devise innovative methodologies to seamlessly integrate climate change research into catastrophe models for re/insurance applications.
• Collaborate with fellow Impact Forecasting R&D and software teams during development, testing, validation, and implementation of models.
• Engage proactively with other stakeholders including R&D teams, analytics teams, brokers, clients and academic partners across the Asia-Pacific, US and Europe regions as required.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in tropical cyclones and climate change research and share valuable insights and discoveries.
• Help drive model understanding, adoption and usage by producing technical content for various internal and external audience in the form of presentations, guidance documents , white papers etc.

• Having 3-6 years of relevant experience in insurance, reinsurance, or risk assessment industry with proven track record of developing and enhancing catastrophe models is an advantage.
• Strong foundation in mathematics and knowledge of probability and statistics.
• Experience with various dynamical models (climate/weather/ocean) and processing large data sets is a plus.
• Basic skills in spatial data analysis using ArcGIS/QGIS or any other software.
• Proven aptitude for collaboration within a team environment, as well as demonstrated capability to work independently, manage projects, and meet deadlines.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED :

• Good programming skills, particularly Python, R, MATLAB or Fortran.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data Confident and self-driven individual has Can-Do attitude Ability to work in teams and do multi-tasking ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
