Job description
Overview:
The CNC VMC Programmer plays a crucial role in our organization by programming and operating vertical machining centers to produce highprecision parts and components. They are responsible for creating and finetuning CNC programs setting up the VMC machines and ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software.
- Set up and operate vertical machining centers to produce parts.
- Perform quality checks on machined parts using precision measuring tools.
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to ensure accurate production runs.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime.
- Implement and adhere to strict quality and safety standards.
- Provide training and guidance to machine operators as needed.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to perform routine equipment maintenance.
- Assist in the development of new machining processes and techniques.
- Keep accurate production and maintenance records.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as a CNC VMC programmer or similar role.
- Indepth knowledge of CNC programming and Gcode.
- Proficiency in operating and setting up VMC machines.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam or similar programs.
- Strong understanding of machining principles and practices.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift moderately heavy objects.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
