- The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the design and development efforts for Aerospace MSD (Mission System Division) Products to meet product requirements including safety, reliability, and conformance to standards
- The candidate in this position is responsible for the successful leading and execution of a wide range of Aerospace Mission Systems related projects requiring hydraulic and pneumatic systems / sub-systems knowledge, including NPI, VAVE, B&P and Sustaining Engineering, while driving continuous improvement to meet project KPIs, and ensure stakeholder and customer satisfaction
- Should have experience leading a team through all stages of the product development cycle
- Success in this position requires the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, strong motivation for pursuing project objectives and the ability to learn new techniques and development processes.
- We are looking for candidates who are able to see the bigger picture; strength in a system-level viewpoint is a must
- Problem solvers who are excited about learning new technologies, understand the xRL levels and develop actions to increase maturity, guide and mentor design team for concept, detailed design and prototype & testing activities
- Candidate should have thorough understanding of Aerospace standards like 3050A, RTCA-DO 160, DO-178, DO-254,MIL-STD-810, SAE ARP 4754/4761 etc
- Think creatively and come out with new proposals and present them to stakeholders
- Develop design guidelines, best practices and lessons learnt documents and shares with peers and team
Qualifications Requirement
- B.E/B.Tech or ME/M.tech in Mechanical / Aerospace and related engineering areas
- Master's degree - 10+ years or Bachelor's degree - 12+ years experience in product design & development in Aerospace industry
- NPI / NPD, DfX tools, Pneumatic design, 3D modeling and drawings, GD&T, Tolerance stackup, Engineering design calculations, Risk analysis & assessment (DFMEA)
- Experience leading a team through all stages of the product development cycle
- Solve problems and make design recommendations
- Extensive experience with product design, prototyping, testing, agile methodologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills,Problem solving skills,Working in ambuiguity, process management
- Lead design & development of Mission systems products at system/ sub-system level as per customer requirements
- Manage customer requirements, concept design/selection, detail design and analysis & design validation product testing and qualification to enable decision making while executing the engineering work in compliance with engineering practices for Aerospace.
- Develop innovative solutions to minimize iterations and quick prototyping
- Prepare and manage schedules, NRE (Non recurring engineering estimates), risk management; good communication and presentation skills - both verbal and written with an ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management and global stakeholders.
Skills - Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
- Provide manufacturability perspective for early concepts and help validate through building appropriate designs. Assist with building prototypes that help in proof of concept and work with external vendors/suppliers.
- Collaborate with SCM to develop ecosystem in India for prototype and testing capabilities
- Maintain and enhance technical proficiency in mechanical engineering related development environments, processes, and tools.
- Plan and manage development work to achieve on-time delivery of NPD, features and enhancements.
- Coordinate and collaborate with product owners and systems, Design, simulation, Reliability and manufacturing development teams to produce engineering designs and specifications for new features and enhancements.
- Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks as they arise during development.
- Mentor and coach less experienced members of the team in all aspects of GD&T, manufacturing, assembly etc.
- In-depth know-how of digital tools and capabilities including but not limited to - Python Programming, Advance Excel, PowerBI, VB and/or similar equivalent etc. to drive digitalization strategies and technical/functional productivity areas would be required
