Elife is a Startup developing innovative technology in the passenger transport industry, providing any type of ground transportation worldwide, including Group/event transportation, NEMT transportation, senior and disability transportation, pet relocation, bilingual driver for non-English speak clients.

Vacancy: Engineering Director Responsibilities: Instill an engineering culture of high quality and velocity. Mentor and Inspire leads and individual contributors to do their best work while they learn & grow. Collaborate with key executives and technology stakeholders to create and execute a technology roadmap, balancing competing interests and needs across the organization to arrive at a clear vision. Spearhead research and development initiatives, identifying opportunities for new projects and improved processes. Incorporate ML models into ecosystem to achieve greater operational efficiencies while reducing costs.

Technical prowess Be a lead by example, roll up sleeves and help the team solve platform and code issues. Be passionate about writing code. Identify, define, and continuously improve the functionality, stability, scalability, and security of our Technology Operations Platforms and Services. Implement and maintain a process structure aligned to global standards that meets business needs while balancing compliance with risk and cost. Provide hands-on Technical Expertise, guidance, and mentorship to the Technologies, Platforms, and Engineers in your area of responsibility. Expert in enterprise technology applications architecture, design, development, and support.

Leadership Lead teams across geographies, focus on automation, integration with various partners, and developing core platform capabilities. Collaborate with key executives and technology stakeholders to create and execute a technology roadmap, balancing competing interests and needs across the organization to arrive at a clear vision. Influence and inform resources and partners whom you do not directly manage and communicate effectively to get alignment on requirements and decisions. Own continual improvement and ongoing process maturity of your Engineering deliverables through regular reviews of the business needs, process, tools, trend analysis, metrics reporting, and regular engagement with stakeholders Work with product owners, stakeholders, and the Engineering teams to prioritize and plan improvements to our tools while balancing technical enhancements, tech debt management, automation opportunities, and new feature development.

We would love to hear from you if you have… 15+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience with 5+ years managing globally distributed high-performing teams 10+ years of hands-on Engineering and expert-level understanding of the following technologies: REST APIs, databases, Hybrid cloud deployment (AWS, Google), CI/CD, Python Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills. Exceptional technical skills in backend (and frontend) engineering. Highly experienced with back-end programming languages. Solution design experience in large-scale projects, ideally of an eCommerce nature. Developed APIs that scale to ecommerce level Project Management: Knowledge of Project Management methodologies and tools. 5+ years as a people leader in a technical Director/ Sr manager (or above) role in an Enterprise / Infrastructure Engineering role. Nimble skillset and flexible concerning changing priorities & business needs Strong track record of hiring stellar engineers and contributing to their career growth Demonstrated ability to develop strong alliances with those outside of your immediate organization Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical staff Flexibility in work schedule, off-hours for project implementation, major incidents, and on-call rotational support (24x7)
