Medtronic is hiring a IT Developer . As a IT i ntegration Developer , you will be a key member of our IT team, specializing in designing, implementing, and managing complex integration , and data streaming solutions. Leveraging your extensive technical expertise and deep understanding of Kafka , integration, pub/sub architecture, and streams processing , you will play a critical role in shaping our organization's strateg y and driving innovation within the event streaming, streams processing, and inte gration landscape. Your expertise in Kafka , combined with strategic thinking and technical leadership, will contribute to the success of our IoT and integration projects and overall IT eco system. Your deep expertise in the Kafka platform and hands-on experience will drive the success of our integration initiatives and contribute to the overall technological excellence of the organization .

A Day in the Life
- Technical Expertise : Leverage your in-depth expertise in Kafka (both On-prem and Confluent Cloud) including Kafka Connect Framework, producers and consumers, Schema Registry, data serialization, Kafka Streams API, Spring Boot Java , KSql DB , and Simple Message Transforms (SMTs) to implement robust and scalable solutions.
- Solution Implementation : Oversee the implementation of pub-sub and streams processing solutions, ensuring they meet technical specifications, quality standards, and adhere to best practices. Provide hands-on technical expertise as needed.
- Continuous Improvement : Lead continuous improvement initiatives, exploring new tools, techniques, and methodologies to enhance integration processes, efficiency, and performance.
- Troubleshooting and Support : Identify and resolve Kafka platform and Kafka Streams Application related issues, ensuring the stability and reliability of solutions. Collaborate with support teams to provide timely resolutions.
- Solution Implementation : Oversee the end-to-end implementation of complex messaging solutions, including the development of streams application, source and sink connectors, schemas , producers, consumers, and single Message Transforms (SMTs) . Ensure solutions adhere to best practices and architectural standards.
- Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing : Provide mentorship and guidance to integration technologists and junior members of the team. Promote a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
- Vendor Interaction: Collaborate with vendors and third-party partners to understand product roadmaps, influence enhancements, and ensure the organization's integration architecture is future-proof and aligned with industry trends. Foster strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors to facilitate effective collaboration throughout the integration process.
- Performance Optimization : Analyze and optimize Kafka solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability. Identify and address potential bottlenecks and failure points and recommend appropriate solutions .
- Documentation and Knowledge Management:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including architectural diagrams, design documents, and integration patterns. Contribute to the development of a knowledge repository for integration practices.
- Innovation : Stay abreast of emerging technologies, Kafka trends, and industry developments. Explore and recommend innovative solutions to improve event streaming processes, efficiency, and overall system performance.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive experience in IT integration with a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information t echnology, or a related field. or 10+ years of experience with an advanced degree .
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management abilities, including the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to lead the development, deployment, and technical quality of large enterprise or global solutions that span multiple technologies and disciplines .
- Participate in integration design activities working with Solution Architects, Technical Leads, and peer Team Members.
- Proven expertise in integration technologies, middleware platforms, integration design patterns, messaging frameworks, and API management , ETL tools, data transformation techn iques and ESB frameworks.
- Ability to understand the customer's business problem, need, or opportunity and to design a solution that completely and correctly addresses the business problem, need, or opportunity without unnecessary enhancements .
- Experience working with Real Time & Near Real Time integrations, including Message Oriented based message handling techniques.
- Experience with Confluent Kafka Platform, c loud technology AWS including containers, Kubernetes, Docker and u nderstanding broker, zookeeper, schema registry, Kafka connect, producers, consumers, and KSqlDB .
- Experience /Knowledge in designing CI/CD solutions.

- Master's Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience in change management, as it relates to a culture and mindset of a complex organization including capabilities building, process design, ownership, and implementation.
