Job description
Minimum qualifications:
- 7 years of experience working with web technologies and backend systems.
- Experience in software development in one or more general purpose programming languages, including Java.
- Experience with SOAP, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with cross-functional, cross-team, or cross-geography projects.
- Experience in working on Agile teams, experience using agile tracking and process management tools.
- Experience working with large scale distributed systems.

You lead all aspects of web development, requirements gathering, software development, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance for both in-house and customer-facing web applications. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of Googlers using UI and functional specs/prototypes as input. You are empowered to act like an owner, take action and innovate to meet user and customer needs.
In this role, you will join a team that builds and maintains Content, Learning, and data systems for the Enterprise Platform Engineering team. Our solutions feed into the ServiceDesk Platform.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with developers, business system leads and program managers to clarify requirements and drive timely execution.
- Design, develop and deploy applications, integrations and web services that support and change fundamental assumptions of how IT works.
- Lead design, data modeling, architecture, coding, performance tuning, testing, and support of analytical systems. Maintain ownership of the end-to-end software development lifecycle.
