E-Commerce Logistics (ECL) is one of the three organizations of FbM. Key responsibilities:

You will be the manager for the global e-Commerce Logistics application support and implementation team based in Bangalore, India. This is a centralized engineering team which is working across three global shifts as partners for our e-Commerce application Solution Architect teams which are spread across the various global locations where we have related operations.

The most critical tasks in this role are:

  • Providing 24/7 Level 2 support for Maersk's global e-Commerce Logistics technology platform. This requires heavy attention to all incidents which are bring raised to Level 1 support to identify trends which require technology changes, but also escalation of incidents to the Level 3 Platform Engineering team for any additional support needed to close an incident.
  • Delivering application configuration or light coding as identified by our Regionally distributed Solution Architect team as they gather requirements and build solution designed documentation for new customer Implementations as brought to us through sales channels, or Change Requests which are raised by Operational or Customer Service teams.
  • Providing a positive and engaging work environment for the people on your team, ensuring that Maersk is seen as a preferred place to work for technology and logistics minded people. Skills will open the door for an interview, but the right candidate will be the one who shows they know how to get the right results from a highly motivated engineering team.

Ideal candidate traits

  • Applicants will have a Bachelor's degree on Computer or IT related course from a reputable college/university together with at least 10 years of working experience in Application support, and 3 years of team leadership/management functions.
  • Applicants will exhibit methods for achieving Technology Excellence including; hands-on experience with support engineering, .NET/C# coding language, micro-services architecture, and event-driven architecture, hands-on experience with cloud technologies, preferably on Azure cloud, and experience with agile practices, CI / CD, DevOps, and automated testing.
  • Applicants will exhibit a track record of performance management & team leadership
    • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, including senior individuals and groups, determining and delegating management responsibilities. Able to set the example for proactively building working relationships within the team, acting as an escalation point for staff and ensuring relationship challenges are addressed.
    • Contribute to the building of a strategically agile culture. Identifying training and development needs. Able to lead the ongoing professional development of the teams and the promotion of best practice. Can mentor and influence senior individuals with their career opportunities and contribution to the organization.
    • Able to lead on formal processes such as compensation negotiations and disciplinary procedures, actively managing both strong and poor performance.
  • People & organization planning:
    • Take overall responsibility for staff planning, recruitment, selection, assessment, on-boarding and transitioning of team members. Ensuring the correct permanent/vendor blend and location strategy compliance.
    • Supporting the recruitment team members across the department. Ensure all the teams are appropriately sized and have the correct skill blend to be effective.
    • Leads the development of plans to ensure that the organization has appropriately skilled staff to meet organizational objectives and commitments.
    • Generate performance reporting for the team which documents our ability to respond to incidents timely, resolve incidents within SLA, and to implement new customers/delivery change requests within the time agreed.
  • Technology planning & transformation:
    • Engage with and influence senior stakeholders and teams through change and transformation, ensuring that technology is managed to provide agreed levels of service and outcomes.
