Primary responsibilities involve overseeing die maintenance, mold maintenance, and assembly tooling within the Stamping, Molding, and Assembly production departments. The focus is on enhancing productivity, quality, and resource utilization while addressing tool-related issues. The role encompasses continual improvement initiatives, upkeep of dies, molds, and assembly tools, ensuring the availability of spare parts, inventory management, and implementing refurbishments/modifications. Additional responsibilities include policy development, department metrics creation, adherence to QMS & EMS requirements, team training and development, process FMEA, goal setting, budgeting, and performance appraisals. The role
extends to vendor interactions for equipment modifications and special equipment acquisition.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure departmental functions align with organizational, customer, and stakeholder priorities, ensuring compliance.
- Drive compliance with QMS/EHS, implementing continual improvement plans and corrective actions.
- Optimize resource utilization in line with system requirements.
- Identify and implement improvement plans across all functional areas.
- Implement Quality policies, establish systems, and participate in IQA for observation closure.
- Conduct goal deployment and performance appraisals for team members.
- Participate in GLSS activities as assigned.
- Review team training needs, recommend and provide on-the-job training.
- Develop and maintain DMB, reviewing Key Result Indicators and proposing improvement plans.
- Maintain housekeeping and ensure safety measures.
- Implement ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 guidelines.
- Undertake any other projects or tasks assigned by management.
- Maintain up-to-date management information data.
- Conduct monthly department meetings to drive team alignment with organizational objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement in Die and Mold DT reduction & FTR improvement.
- Prepare and execute Fusion and MOS KPIs for the stamping function.
- Prepare, execute, and maintain ISMS requirements for the Stamping function.
Environmental/CSR Responsibilities:
- Address ISO 14001 and EMS-related legal requirements in the handled areas.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety management system requirements.
- Actively participate in emergency preparedness and relevant teams.
- Handle accident reporting in respective areas of control.
- Support EHS engineer in accident investigation and control implementation.
- Ensure closure of audit findings in EMS & QMS in handled areas.
- Responsible for monitoring/implementing Corporate Social Responsibility activities and compliance.
Function-Specific Responsibilities:
- Ensure optimal resource utilization in die maintenance, mold maintenance, and assembly tooling.
- Oversee effective utilization of tooling resources and maintenance of Dies and Molds, ensuring quality.
- Review daily Mold & die requirements with the planning team and plan accordingly.
- Collaborate with NPD Team for tool trials, process development, and qualification activities.
- Address production problems and establish solutions.
- Monitor and control variable overheads in Mold and Die maintenance per budget.
SPECIFIC AUTHORITIES
- Authorized to halt production or shipment impacting product quality.
- Authorized to stop work or processes violating organizational or regulatory procedures, posing potential harm.
- Authorized to stop work violating compliance per PBM principles.
JOB SPECIFICATION
- Qualification: Graduate/Diploma in Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Production, Tool & Die Making).
