Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Area Sales Manager to lead our modern trade and general trade network development and sales efforts in the Bangalore area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth through the expansion of our presence in both modern trade and general trade channels while managing a team of sales officers across various parts of the state.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the brand's presence in both modern trade and general trade retail channels in the Bangalore area. Identify and establish relationships with key decision-makers in modern trade and general trade accounts, including category managers, buyers, and independent retailers, to secure distribution and drive sales. Drive sales volume and revenue growth through effective negotiation of pricing, promotional activities, and product placement within modern trade stores and general trade outlets. Lead the recruitment, training, and management of sales officers to ensure they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service across both trade channels. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to identify opportunities for product innovation and market expansion in both modern trade and general trade segments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, supply chain, and finance, to ensure alignment of sales strategies with overall business objectives. Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts and budgets, tracking performance against targets and implementing corrective actions as needed. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as legal and regulatory requirements, in all sales activities across both trade channels.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and business development, with a focus on both modern trade and general trade channels in the FMCG industry. Proven track record of successfully expanding distribution and driving sales growth in both modern trade retail chains and general trade outlets. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve ambitious sales targets. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze sales data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights to inform sales strategies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and sales management software. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned area as needed.
