Job description
Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct safety audits and inspections of production facilities, laboratories, and storage areas to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. Provide guidance and support for risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and ergonomic evaluations to mitigate workplace hazards and promote employee well-being. Coordinate and deliver safety training programs for employees involved in pharmaceutical manufacturing, including topics such as chemical handling, PPE usage, emergency response, and waste management. Manage the documentation and record-keeping processes related to EHS activities within the Pharma/API department, including incident reports, inspection findings, training records, and permits. Experience and exposure in HAZOP, PSSR, ESG, Eco Vadis, PSCI, etc. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into new product development, process changes, and facility expansions. Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs specific to the Pharma/API department, in compliance with regulations set forth by GPCB, USFDA, ADIS, and other relevant agencies Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies regarding EHS matters, ensuring timely submission of permits, reports, and other required documentation. Lead investigations into EHS incidents and near misses within the Pharma/API department, identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions. Stay informed about emerging EHS trends, regulations, and technologies relevant to the pharmaceutical/API industry, and recommend best practices for continuous improvement. Desired Skills: Master's degree in Environmental Sciences or related field (MSc Environmental Sciences preferred). Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in EHS management within the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on API manufacturing.
