Job Description: As a Design Engineer, you will be expected to perform design, modelling & detailing of Dealer Service Tools for machine R&I, D&A, major component repair and rebuild. You will have opportunity to deepen your knowledge base of Caterpillar's products, technologies, processes, services, and systems while strengthening analytical skills and learning engineering concepts. This role interacts closely with DST Peoria/India product team to provide engineering technical support.
Job Duties/Responsibilities May Include, But Are Not Limited To: - Assist in Dealer Service Tools Design projects by maintaining product release plans and driving projects to completion on time.
- Good knowledge of fabricated components – Welded Structures Design
- Ability to communicate designs and related information in collaboration discussions.
- Perform exploratory data analysis, data processing, and data visualization
- Review detailing projects with respect to BIQ design checkpoints and look for parts proliferation opportunities.
- Participate in project initiation meetings, understand the scope, and share estimation on project completion date.
- Strong conceptual thinking and design engineering.
- Good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, engineering drawings, manufacturing processes and Machine Bill of Material (BOM)
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with process partner on daily basis.
- Manage day-to-day operational aspect of all project timelines, scope and ensure timely delivery of projects with expected quality level.
- Develop and maintain good working relationship within the team and other teams.
- Responsible to work with engineering suppliers to get the work done with expected quality and velocity.
- Address all customer issues promptly and propose process / product improvements.
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering
- Minimum 6-8 Years of relevant experience in Engineering Design, FEA preferably Creo Simulate, Creo Part Modelling, Assembly and Detailing
- Handling complex assembly in Creo is a must for this role.
- Exposure to service tools applications and operations
- Excellent ability to communicate technical details effectively
Top Candidates Will Also Have: - Proficient in working with Heavy Structures & material selection (ASTM codes)
- Prior Experience on bolted joint analysis
- Prior Experience on Caterpillar Systems like SIS 2.0, HVC, Teamcenter & Vis-Mock up.
- Prior experience in Caterpillar Standards and processes
- Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers from different geographical locations.
Relocation is available for this position.
