Position Summary Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and skilled Machine Shop Production Team Leader to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the machine shop, ensuring the efficient production of high-quality components, and leading a team of skilled machinists.
Job Functions, Responsibilities & Authorities Responsibilities: - Team Leadership:
- Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of machinists and production staff.
- Provide guidance and training to team members to enhance skills and performance.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Production Oversight:
- Oversee all aspects of machine shop production, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timelines.
- Plan and schedule production activities to meet delivery deadlines.
- Monitor and optimize production processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Quality Control:
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the production of high-quality components.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address quality issues.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure proper maintenance of machines and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and address any technical issues that may arise during production.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement measures to enhance productivity.
- Collaborate with engineering and other departments to implement best practices.
- Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement safety protocols within the machine shop.
- Conduct regular safety training sessions for team members.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes and equipment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to make decisions under pressure and solve problems effectively.
General responsibilities - Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
- Supervise and lead a team of manufacturing personnel engaged in the production of polyurethane pigging, cups, and guiding sealing products.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize production activities to meet production schedules and as per demands.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the manufacturing facility.
- Monitor and enforce quality control standards to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Train and mentor manufacturing personnel on proper production techniques, safety procedures, and quality control measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance, to resolve production issues and implement process improvements.
- Optimize production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize production costs.
- Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for manufacturing processes.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to manufacturing personnel
- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and supplies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices related to polyurethane pigging, cups, and guiding sealing manufacturing.
- Ensure compliance with relevant quality management systems and industry standards.
- Should have sufficient knowledge and experience of foam coating with PU and Brushes etc
- Setting up and operates various casting machines to cast polyurethane elastomer products
- Maintain and secure raw material Stocks for minimum three-month production.
- Lay outs, shapes and assembles patterns of plastic and other materials from blueprints, models or templates
- Comply always and fully with LIN SCAN IT requirements
- Be quality conscious (dynamic approach towards quality improvement and aim at getting things right first time)
- Maintain confidentiality, integrity and safeguard LIN SCAN trade secrets
- Respect and support fellow employees at all times
- Respond to changes positively (technical advancements as well as organizational adaptations)
- Assure timely and accurate reporting to Tool Management Department
- Identify training requirements
Accountability - Keeps the material Stock up to date.
- Handles the Material Carefully and arrange them accordingly after usage in the Racks
- Deliver the tools & tool parts as per committed date to avoid delay -90%
- Deliver the mechanical & fabrication parts with good quality-95%
- Maintain the stock of raw material – 100%
