Role:

  • As the Vice President of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), you will be responsible for leading and building a high-performing SRE team for NationsBenefits.
  • You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our software products and services.
  • Your expertise will be crucial in scaling and managing our geo-distributed operational teams, providing 24/7 support to meet the needs of our healthcare customers.
  • You will play a pivotal role in driving the adoption of SRE practices and technologies across the organization.
  • This is a leadership position that requires exceptional communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a track record of success in building and leading SRE teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead a world-class Site Reliability Engineering team, ensuring a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Integrate observability platforms to monitor the performance and reliability of our software systems, proactively identifying and addressing issues.
  • Manage geo-distributed operational teams, establishing efficient processes and workflows to provide 24/7 support to our healthcare customer base.
  • Make technology selections for SRE practices, tools, and platforms, driving their implementation and adoption across the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, infrastructure, and security, to ensure the reliability and scalability of our systems.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize system performance, enhance fault tolerance, and reduce downtime.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Responsible for strengthening incident management process including incident prioritization matrix, triaging, communication, mitigation, post-mortem and corrective actions

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 15 years of professional experience, with a significant focus on Site Reliability Engineering.
  • Proven track record of building and leading SRE teams in the software industry.
  • Experience managing geo-distributed operational teams and providing 24/7 support.
  • Strong background in integrating observability platforms and utilizing data-driven insights to improve system reliability.
  • In-depth knowledge of SRE practices, tools, and technologies, with the ability to drive their adoption across an organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present to senior leadership.
  • Highly structured and organized, capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Note: Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in companies with a strong SRE culture.
