Job description

Role Description This is a full-time on-site role located in Chennai for a Mechanical Design Engineer. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks of designing and developing complex mechanical systems and products subjected to high stress and harsh environments. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the designs adhere to the requirements within the established timelines.

Roles

& Responsibilities

Hands on design, engineer and detail engineering for Process Package/ Skid/ Engineered Solutions/ Modular Plants. Coordinate & get work done from multidiscipline team to deliver on the project engineering documents. Involve in Review of P&ID, Isometric drawings, GAD & Alignment Drawings Prepare & review Mechanical design basis, MDS, MRs, Design Reports, GAs, Fab drawings, interfacing design, loading data, Lifting arrangement, Transportation Arrangement etc Support for FAT, SAT, O& M Manual preparation, vendor audits/ inspection, installation support etc Collaborate closely with design & project team to get required inputs, resolve issues & execute the project. Develop engineering practices & standards to ensure standardization, Additional & / or other work as & when needed. Following the drawing/model review process established in team. Taking full accountability of own design drawings/models Generating equipment fabrication drawings & bill of materials Planning own work in line with overall project schedule with manager Support Bid Management with 3D layouts, general arrangement drawings, weight estimations, Work & coordinate package design configurations within engineering. Provide unified engineering solution for a project, considering internal design guidelines & project requirements.

Create & maintain technical specifications, engineering work instructions, as well as "Best Practices" documents for modeling, drafting, & design. Prevent non-conformances by innovation, creatively applying lessons learned & implementing cost-effective solutions to proposals.

Qualification

3 to 7 years in engineering industry (Oil & Gas)

Familiar with in NFPA 14,20,16,15 Well experienced in solid works 3D modeling & extracting 2D drawings, AUTOCAD Experience in fire fighting piping & Skid system (Foam skid, Deluge skids, Bladder tank systems, Chemical injection packages...) design field will be an added advantage. Should be able to do flow calculations, valve sizing, & review piping stress analysis & structure analysis report.

Familiar with International Design codes & Dimensional standards. ANSI/ASME, API, BS, ASTM Hands on experience on ASME vessel, stress analysis. Experience of working in the projects for clients like ARAMCO, SABIC, ADNOC, IOCL, HPCL etc. Well knowledge Designing of pipe layouts for projects in the oil & gas industry by using International Codes & Standards. Knowledge in the product-structure, design, calculations & specifications; accessing its impact on costs related to Engineering, Manufacturing. Technical background/understanding of package components like on-skid piping, cabling, structural framing, control & instrumentation, transport limits/ feasibilities & their impact on the overall package design.
