Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Production Engineer to join our dynamic team in Pune. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in production within the plastic packaging manufacturing, plastic molding, or injection molding industry. As a Production Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing production processes, ensuring product quality, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day production activities to ensure efficient operation and adherence to production schedules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality assurance, maintenance, and engineering to resolve production issues and optimize processes.
- Monitor production performance metrics such as cycle time, scrap rate, and productivity to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production failures or quality issues and implement preventive measures to minimize reoccurrence.
- Drive initiatives to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality through process optimization and automation.
- Provide technical support and guidance to production operators to ensure proper operation of equipment and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Participate in new product development projects by providing input on manufacturability, process capability, and production feasibility.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Prepare production reports, documentation, and SOPs to track performance, facilitate communication, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in production technology, and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering or related field.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in production engineering within the plastic packaging manufacturing, plastic molding, or injection molding industry.
- Computer knowledge in AutoCAD is required, and should be able to interface with vendors and customers.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, equipment, and materials used in plastic manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with process optimization, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting production equipment and resolving technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory requirements for the plastic packaging industry is a plus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel occasionally as required.
