PFS Technology - Application Support Analyst
Business Areas Description
This role provides the opportunity to be part of a global team that spans multiple lines of business within the Investment Bank including Futures & Options, OTC Clearing – Credit Derivatives, OTC Clearing – Foreign Exchange and OTC Clearing – Interest Rates Derivatives. As part of the Production Management group, the Cleared Derivative Technology Operate teams' goal is to provide first class application support to the Cleared Derivatives business for all applications delivered by the PFS Technology group. In addition, working with client service relationship teams you will be an integral part of delivering our technology capability to the external Cleared Derivatives client base.
Job Description
The role is that of an Application Support Analyst in a team dedicated to ensuring that the PFS suite of global applications and infrastructure are available and supported in line with defined service level agreements. The role will include involvement in frontline support, incident management and reporting, root cause analysis, productivity efficiencies & improvements and providing support during pre-production change management cycles.
Responsibilities Include
- Provide daily support of the production environment and take ownership in managing and resolving issues and problems encountered, in a timely manner to ensure minimum disruption to internal and external clients. Support coverage will be 24 x 7 (rota based) as part of a Global team with a follow the sun model.
- Interact with various teams to ensure a stable production environment, including but not limited to client facing support, application developers, business analysts, infrastructure, build & deployment and quality assurance.
- Act as the custodian of the production environment and adhere to and promote strict project lifecycle methodologies while ensuring all relevant change management procedures are being followed.
- D evelop strong working relationships with the business and aligned application and infrastructure support teams to assist in support issue prioritization.
- Perform timely escalation of critical production incidents and proactively identify patterns of recurring incidents to improve service stability.
- Develop and utilize core support tools and processes to perform work whilst improving day to day practices for support team members with the goal of delivering service improvements to the business.
- Maintain documentation on issue corrective actions in-line with best practice to ensure knowledge accessibility and continuous learning amongst the team.
Key Skills/Experience
Essential :
- Require around minimum of 5 years to a max of 15 yrs of experience
- Excellent working knowledge of Linux/Unix.
- Excellent database knowledge & experience - Sybase and Oracle + SQL.
- Monitoring / Alerting and Batch / Job scheduling experience
- Cloud experience/ knowledge good to have
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver on time
- Ability to fully document solutions
- Advanced and demonstrable problem solving / analytical skills
- Proactive, adaptive, independent and self-managing with proven capability to lead a project initiative
- Effectively adapt to necessary changes in work requirements, roles and responsibilities
- Ability to understand, adhere to and suggest improvements to internal IT control policy and industry best-practice
- You will be supporting Global systems working closely with team members in various locations, so excellent communication skills are being sought in candidates.

- Cloud Technology AWS experience
- Capacity Management experience
- Geneos and Control M knowledge
- Appreciation of Controls and Compliance processes for application support
- Informatica experience
- Project Management
- Experience supporting applications running on windows Servers
- MQ/UM experience
- Product knowledge of OTC Clearing and/or Future & Options business
Academic Qualification
Minimum - bachelor degree in technology / management discipline
