Opportunity: The automotive market in India has grown to be one of the largest in the world, with an accelerating demand for specific advanced infotainment solutions. Cerence as a global leader in automotive AI continues to invest into a world-class local presence and partnership with India's OEMs and suppliers. We therefore look for a Principal Sales Engineer who has a background in automotive infotainment or embedded AI solutions, to extend the team and help us shape the automotive future in India.
Daily Functions / Responsibilities:
- Engages with customers on technical requirements, builds network with stakeholders and presents Cerence as a solution provider.
- Understand all company products details from technical standpoint.
- Comprehend all customer requirements and map that with the most suitable product and pitch it to the customer with the required information.
- Plan and conduct product demos for the customers based on the requirements.
- Perform implementation reviews, advocate new product features, and ensure the prompt and proper resolution of technical challenges.
- Lead product feature offerings by providing partner feedback to internal cross-functional teams including Product Management, Business Development, and Software Engineering.
- Should understand the full business perspective of a software company and should have the content knowledge to both set strategic goals and align internal operations to achieve those goals.
- Demonstrate thought-leadership, initiative, independence, and willingness to learn.
- Developing and managing internal and external stakeholder relationships and in managing geographically distributed organizations
- Working with architects, R&D, Program Managers, and Product Managers to understand high-level design, cross-functional impact, architectural or non-functional requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or automobile engineering related field.
- Total of 5- 7 years of experience in Automotive industry and strong experience towards infotainment and connectivity with rich experience on Linux and Android platforms.
- Can work as an Individual Contributor with limited supervision and open to travel (:25% travel) as and when required.
- Excellent understanding of Automotive industry market trends and technical strategies.
- Experience in interacting with automotive stakeholders on all hierarchy level and have been in a customer facing role working on automotive grade projects.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills.
- Should Have Experience in software solutioning.
- Should have – Experience in estimating and budgeting projects and technical project documentation.
- Should Have – Inroads in 4-Wheeler and 2-Wheeler OEMs and Tier-1s especially in Indian market.
- Nice to Have – Experience in Voice application and AI or Connectivity Solution.
