Freight Investor Services (FIS) is a leading global brokerage of freight and commodities. We are the world's largest broker on dry freight futures, and have a strong presence across the bulk commodities, metals, and energy markets. THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Executive in our India office. Ideal candidates will have basic shipping knowledge as well as excellent analytical and numerical skills. This is a role for a dynamic individual who is proactive, and an excellent team player.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitor and coordinate vessel's post-fixture operations for both voyage charters and time charters
- Liaise with owners and charterers to ensure smooth vessel operations
- Proactively follow up and send reminders on any claims and demurrage
- Prepare charter parties when necessary
- Support the desk on all operation aspects
- Perform any other reasonable duties the company may require
Risk related responsibilities:
- Understand regulation within the evolving regulatory landscape
- Support a risk and compliance aware culture and comply with FIS company policies
- Exercise judgement and act with integrity, due care, skill and diligence and open and co-operative with MAS, other regulators and exchanges
- Ensure full awareness of and adhere to internal policies that relate to the role or any other relevant activities
- Observe standards of market conduct and ensure understanding and adherence to all regulatory, exchange or clearing house requirements applicable to role
Training:
- Seek regular feedback from Desk Head to ensure role requirements are met
- Complete any mandatory training required by the company and required deadlines
- Maintain own Continued Professional Development (CPD)
