Job description
Main Responsibilities Physical Server & Storage Management: Address hardware, operating system & software/firmware issues of Tower, Rack & Blade Servers. Configure/manage servers using remote management consoles like IPMI, iDRAC, iLO etc. Execute BIOS updates and firmware updates for server and storage components. Configure/maintain various SAN solutions from HP, DELL, IBM Configure/maintain various RAID Groups, volumes, and LUNs Configure/maintain SAN switches.
Virtualization Platform Management: Configure / Maintain virtualization platforms – vSphere ESXi, vCenter, Hyper-V and others Configure/maintain datastores, vSwitches and port groups Scheduled proactive activities and patching support. Configure/maintain backup and replication of VMs using various solutions (eg: Veeam Backup) Linux Server Environment Proven experience as a Linux operating systems, Server & Storage Administrator, or similar role Proven experience on email platforms like Zimbra, Office 365 and google apps. Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat). Install, configure, and troubleshoot WEB server (Apache2, Nginx,Tomcat) Familiarity with security tools and protocols (e.g., SELinux, iptables) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues efficiently. Ability to develop automation scripts for system management tasks. Apply system patches and updates to ensure a secure and up to date Develop and implement backup strategies to safeguard critical data. General Responsibilities: Maintain a definitive library for OS, Applications, product guides, device firmware, etc. Maintain and update configuration documents Maintain assets and software license/subscriptions Vendor coordination and support Maintain SLAs and do timely escalations. Report all incident/service/change requests in the helpdesk tool. Provide after-hour support in case of emergencies and occasional weekend maintenance. Skills: Excellent troubleshooting skills Proven experience as a Linux operating systems, Server & Storage Administrator, or similar role Proven experience on email platforms like Zimbra, Office 365 and google apps Exceptional organizing and time-management skills Very good communication abilities VMware & Hyper-V virtualization management skill Server & Storage management.
