Senior Engineer – Testing Pune_ESAS An exciting opportunity has arisen for Senior Engineer – Testing to join Rolls-Royce Power System Business. You would be employed directly by Rolls-Royce.
The team is seeking a Genset Testing Engineer who will be responsible for a wide range of tests, including Design Verification Checks, Torque Tests, Ductor Tests (Contact Resistance Tests), Pre and Post Insulation Resistance Tests, High Pot Tests, Breaker Operation Tests, Primary Injection Tests (for breakers above 225A), Secondary Injection Tests, ATS/Breaker Interlock Tests, BMS/SCADA and Metering Verification, Overcurrent and Earth Fault Relay Tests, Other Protection Relay Tests, Ammeter and Voltmeter Tests, and Switchboard Control Function Tests. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in genset testing procedures and be capable of ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of gensets through these comprehensive assessments. Key Accountabilities - Conducting Comprehensive Testing: Perform a wide range of tests on gensets and panels including transient testing, vibration and sound measurement, design verification Checks, Torque Tests, Ductor Tests, Insulation Resistance Tests, High Pot Tests, Breaker Operation Tests, Primary and Secondary Injection Tests, Interlock Tests, and various Relay Tests.
- Ensuring Genset Performance and Reliability: Utilize strong expertise in genset testing procedures to ensure optimal performance and reliability of gensets through thorough assessments.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of quality assurance throughout the testing process, ensuring that all tests are conducted accurately and according to established protocols and standards.
- Documentation and Reporting: Document test results meticulously, prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings effectively to relevant stakeholders, including engineers and management.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identify and troubleshoot any issues encountered during testing, applying analytical skills and technical knowledge to resolve problems promptly and efficiently.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, technicians, and project managers, to coordinate testing activities, share insights, and contribute to the overall success of projects and product development initiatives.
Qualifications And Experience - Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience in Genset Testing: Prior experience in conducting various tests ideally within the power generation or related industry.
- Familiarity with Testing Standards and Protocols: Knowledge of industry standards and protocols related to genset testing, such as IEEE/ISO standards, ensures adherence to best practices and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Analytical Skills and Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during testing are essential for ensuring accurate and reliable test results.
- Attention to Detail and Accuracy: Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for accurately documenting test results, preparing reports, and ensuring the integrity of testing processes.
- Effective Communication and Collaboration: Good communication skills are necessary for effectively communicating test findings to stakeholders, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to a collaborative work environment.
