Job description

DHL Express is looking for an X-Ray Screening Coordinator to join and lead our team. He/she will be responsible for ensuring the screening (X-Ray Screening) of each and every shipment.

Key Responsibilities

He/she will have to perform following activities:

Coordinate investigations carried out locally by country or aviation resources and provides support, guidance and expertise to the investigation process and the resulting follow-up activity.

Conduct investigations into security incidents e.g. loss/theft of shipments, company assets, and criminal acts against property or personnel.

Assist the Security Manager in the delivery of the CIS Security training programme.

Carries out trainings on Security equipments like ETD machines, DFMD, HHMD & X- ray machines.

Carries out monthly analysis of TIP(Threat Image Projection) results in respect of screeners

Maintains tracker of BCAS certified screeners and security assistants, ensures all screeners & security assistants have valid BCAS certification at all times.

Coordinates and assists during Audits done by Bureau ofCivil Aviation. Assists in closure of gaps identified by BCAS

Coordinates and assists in carrying out RA3 certification audit. Ensures Security Manager in maintaing RA3 status of Gateway

Acts as Coordinator during Regulated Agent audits done by BCAS. Assists Security Manager in keeping Gateway RA compliant as per BCAS norms.

Coordinates and assists during TAPA audits

Rostering of screeners and Security assistants for duty shifts

Checks daily serviceability of all Security equipments and sends serviceability state to Gateway Manager & Security.

Coordinates with AMC providers

Ensures all Periodical Maintenance of Security equipments are carried out by OEM s as per maintenance schedule

Maintains tracker of one day security awareness sessions carried out for Gateway employees, ensures all staff are trained with valid certifications as per BCAS norms

Coordinates with BCAS for issuance of AEP( Aerodrome Entry Permits)

Maintains tracker of Aerodrome Entry Permits(AEP) issued by BCAS, ensures they are put up for renewal before expiry

All training records are maintained and kept updated at all times.

Acts as SPOC for all security related contingencies

DG coordinator for Gateway

Attends APSC(Airport Security Committee) meets in absence of Security Manager

Attends monthly cargo security meets conducted by ASG(Airport Security Group)

Maintains close coordination with Airport Fire Services, Local Police & ASG

Skills Required

Age : must be between 18 years and 45 years.

Education Qualification : Minimum Graduate or equivalent

Citizenship : must be a Indian Citizen

Health :

o All security personnel must be in a Good mental and physical state of health, consistent with the ability to perform the security tasks. Substance abuse (including alcohol) shall be a cause for rejection

o Certification of health shall be obtained from a Registered Medical practitioner in India.

Visual accuracy Eye sight shall be equal or better than 20/60 in both eyes without glasses / lenses or equal or better that 20 / 20 in one eye and 20 / 30 in the other when using glasses or contact lenses. Adequate colour perception shall be required.

Hearing Hearing loss in each ear should be less than 30 dB when tested by audio graph for frequencies below 2000 Hz.

Speech There shall be clear ability to communicate orally efficiently and effectively. Movement-of-crisis communication necessitates that screening personnel be free from any pronounced speed impediment.

Sense of smell Security personnel shall have the ability to sense odour.

Security Clearance

Must have undergo a criminal indices checks

o Must have undergone a background accounting for employment and / or school record for a minimum of five preceding years.

Language : Must be proficient in the reading, writing and speaking of the language required by the location and Hindi, English & Local Language.

Experience : Acceptable without experience subject to successful completion of the prescribed training programme after employment.

Deportment & Appearance : Security personnel must demonstrate a high standard of civility, deportment, appearance and sobriety as well as offer the public all appropriate courtesies.

Knowledge

Demonstrate recognition of

o Firearms

o Explosives

o Incendiary devices

o Potential weapons.

Must have knowledge and understanding of:

o Baggage and passenger screening procedures.

o Hand search procedures for Passenger, Cargo and Courier.

o Preservation of evidence.

o Police response procedures related to the Passenger, Cargo and Courier screening point.

o Relevant legislation.

o Parameters of authority.

o Application of terrorist profiles.

Practical Skill

o Must have knowledge of the operation

o X-ray Baggage Inspection System.

o Door Frame Metal Detector

o Hand Held Metal Detector

o Explosives Detectors.

o Each security person shall, before being deployed for duty by the airline operators / their authorized agents, successfully complete an approved training concerning aviation security as prescribed by Bureau of Civil Aviation Security from time to time.

Certification

o Basic AVSEC Course by BCAS

o Screener Certification from BCAS

o DG CAT 6

Profile Requirements (Experience / Certifications / Qualifications / Licenses)-

Acceptable without experience subject to successful completion of the prescribed training programme after employment.

Minimum Graduate or equivalent.
