General Manager - Employee Relations

Job description

The position's responsibilities span employee conflict resolution, HR transformation enablement, Employee Relations (ER) policy development, people-related risk assessment and coaching business and HR leaders in creating a positive work environment. The position is also responsible for the design of internal audit frameworks to assess work climate and employment compliance.

• Ensuring that the treatment of employees is consistent with the organization's core business values and objectives
• Partnering with business stakeholders and HR teams to develop and implement Employee Relations best practices and programs
• HR advisory: Employee conflict-resolution support, process documentation and SOPs, external services enablement
• Statutory compliance: Own employment compliance, ensure responses to notices / inspections are timely, address employee representative topics
• Addressing employee complaints, defining grievance procedures and facilitating counseling when required with internal / external counsellors
• Investigating and resolving complex or critical Employee Relations issues in a timely and effective manner
• Analyzing employee feedback across all levels on a regular basis to revise Employee Relations programs and policies to generate more positive outcomes
• Audits: Periodic audits to ensure compliance
• Reporting: Comprehensive (Red-Amber-Green) view to HR and business leadership on ongoing employment compliance and other ER subjects
• Creates learning assets and trains people managers on Employee Relations best practices
• Represents organization in contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with employee and labor organizations
• Collaborates with legal counsel and departments in the preparation and participation in collective negotiation and other related Employment Relations topics
• Participating in and/or leading ER projects focused on continuous improvement
• Performs other ER functional duties, as required

• A minimum of 10+ years HR domain experience, with 3+ years' experience in an ER capacity spanning conflict resolution, HR transformation, policy development, risk assessment and coaching business and HR leaders in creating a positive work environment
• Master's degree in Human Resources / Labour Relations preferred
• Experience in design of audit frameworks to assess work climate and employment compliance is desired
• Basic understanding of employment regulation in India
• Language proficiency in English
