Job description
Position Overview:
As an Automation Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software through robust API test automation. The ideal candidate should have 4 to 5 years of experience, a strong background in API testing, and proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript, Java, or Python.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Build, extend, and manage API test automation suites:
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts for complex integration projects.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage for APIs using any relevant test automation tools.
2.Manage external releases for engineering projects:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate smooth and error-free external releases.
- Conduct thorough testing to validate the functionality and performance of the software.
3.Own and manage mocking frameworks:
- Establish and maintain effective mocking tools to simulate various scenarios during testing.
- Collaborate with development teams to improve and optimize mocking processes.
4.Responsible for managing test environment setup:
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure timely and accurate test environment setup and availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve environment-related issues to minimize downtime.
5.Work with engineering teams in incremental development cycles:
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams during incremental development cycles.
- Provide timely feedback on test results, identify issues, and work towards efficient resolutions.
Skills and Tooling:
- API test automation using any relevant tooling.
- Proficiency in scripting languages: JavaScript, Java, or Python.
- Experience with performance testing using tools such as K6, Jmeter, or Gatling.
- Source code management using GitHub.
- Familiarity with mocking tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4 to 5 years of proven experience in automation testing, with a focus on API testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
