ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY  

 

This role requires strong skills on the LinuxKerneland x86_64, ARM architecture testing. You will be investigating and debugging various customer escalations, reported defects related to X86_64, ARM server platforms and Linux Kernel features onWind River Debian Linux for edge server systems. You will also be developing solutions for the customer requested features and resolvingreported security vulnerabilities (CVEs).  

 

Interface & Collaboration  

 

Report directly to Engineering Manager of Wind River Debian Linux Team. You will be an integral part of the Wind River Debian Linux Engineering Group.You will work together tightly with Wind River Debian Linux development, QA teams, and collaborate with other teams from Engineering, Customer Support, and Sales team. You will collaborate with Linux specialists across the world and strive to become the trusted sustaining expert to our Wind River Debian Linux internal and external customers and will contribute feature implementation and bug fixes back to the open-source community.  

 

 

Responsibilities  

• Investigate, debug various platform and Kernel features in Debian Linux products among X86 architectures.
• Work with teamsin site or overseas to finish test planning, test development, and test execution, and test reporting.

 

 

ABOUT YOU  

 

 

Core Competencies & Demonstrated Success  

 

• Experience in Linux maintenance support and/or development, with focus on the Linux kernel, with peripheral drivers such as networking, storage, filesystemsand kernel customizations.
• Strong sense of software development principles for software engineering.
• Know and have lived through commercial software project development cycles.

 

 

Qualifications  

 

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related majors
• 7+ years of Linux system development / testing experience.
• Strong knowledge and experience with the generic Linux kernel, device drivers.
• Linux customization knowledge on X86_64, ARM, or RISC-V servers is a plus.
• Knowledge of peripheral drivers like Intel, Broadcom, Marvell, and Mellanox networking drivers, Dell serves with storage drivers such as Raid, SAS, Audio, Video, or Graphics are a plus.
• Knowledge of LTP, Fuzz, Coverity and performance benchmarks is desired.
• Knowledge of various Linux boot loaders like: UEFI, uboot, PXE, or GPXE is a plus.
• Programming skills like Unix Shell, Expect, Perl, Python, Makefile.
• Knowledge and experience of Debian, Real Time kernel is preferred.
• Working in Agile working model
• Adaptive person. Be able to work on multiple tasks in parallel
• Powerful sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Good English written and oral communication skills.
