We’re looking for a hands-on engineer with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, and highly available services and having technology experience of 9+ years. As a Principal Member of Technical Staff, you will own the software design and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. You should be both a rock solid programmer and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You must have expert knowledge of C/C++ with working knowledge in areas of iSCSI, SCSI, NVME over TCP, NVME over Fiber or other Storage Protocols. Hands-on production grade programming in Java is a plus.

We’re looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, and highly available services. As a Principal Member of Technical Staff, you will own the software design and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. You should be both a rock solid programmer and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging, or designing of software applications or operating systems, provide technical leadership to other software developers and specify, design, and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Qualifications : 9+ years experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems. Expert knowledge of C/C++ and experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc. Hands-on production grade programming in Java is a plus. Expert knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems. Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure and network storage. Expert working knowledge in areas of iSCSI, SCSI, NVME over TCP, NVME over Fiber or other Storage Protocols is mandatory. Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, and standard network architectures. Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills. Technical Mentoring, grooming team members, playing a technical leadership role, collaborating across teams to evolve on design, setting up best practices for the team, and leading with example. Having working knowledge in areas of QEMU, IPSec, TLS, DPDK, SPDK, SmartNICs is a plus. Having hands-on experience in Operating the Cloud is a big plus. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.

In addition, duties and tasks are varied and complex and hence need independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel.
